That's Golobulus to the left of Pythona, isn't it. Brother, picture a modern-style figure of HIM!

I still think Pythona should be a bit greener-of-skin than shown in the image, but we'll see what happens.

My biggest problem is, I'm interested in both figures next year. I wouldn't mind having Mike Power. I'm sort of trying to decide which one would be less expensive to BUY, especially on the secondary market, later on.

(Of course, I'm still upset over missing out on the ComiCon Masters set of Rotar and Twistoid. You seen what THOSE are selling for!? Yeesh!)

The great thing is Boss Fight Studios already has a mold for the lower body for a Golobulus, in their Vitruvian H.A.C.K.S. line of figures.

It appears BFS already has a mold for the upper body too. In the pictures Erik and Dave sent from their tour of the factory, one shows the male torso on the snake lower body and mentions that they went ahead and tooled up those pieces even though that figure will not be released until series 2. I'm not sure if that was a hint in regards to a possible Golobulous ....

Pythona almost certainly would not be in a 2016 set unless they did something different, like what they did with the Special Mission Brazil Dial Tone. But, I can't think of any Pythona variation that would make sense. I also think that Cobra Commander would be difficult to make, either as his pre-Cobra version or as the snake humanoid.

Otherwise, I think this set is doable, and I'd prefer at least six Royal Guards anyway.

For Pythona they could just do a color variation. Same colors with different shades.

All you have to do for a "Once was a Man" Cobra Commander is to give him a reptilian head and use the Zombie Viper lower arms and lower legs for one of his hands and a one of his legs. That would give the appearance of him having non human skin breaking out of his clothes. So all that would need to be created is the head.

My last understanding is that the HACKbucks are being used exclusively for BFS' own line. It's why the Capt Action figure inst on a HACKbuck. I'm sure Hasbro could spend enough to sway them on this, but I'm not sure the Club could.

I'm sure that BFS intends to only use the HACKS tooling for their own lines except for very rare exceptions, but I think Golobulous would qualify as a very rare exception. Besides, BFS could potentially make a Golobulous using the HACKS mold that is marketed as a HACKS figure, presumably with special permission from Hasbro. I'm not sure how feasible that would be or if Hasbro would ever agree to a deal like that. But, I'm sure Mark Weber, BFS, and the Club all know that this is the easiest and probably the only way that character can ever be produced reasonably accurately since Hasbro would never sell that figure at retail and the Club couldn't afford to have the necessary parts tooled.

While I know that this is still likely me projecting my wants rather than a strong possibility, it does seem like the opportunity is greater for it happening in 2016 than any previous year.

True enough, and more or less what I said. It's really a matter of $$$ and how stringent BFS want to be about a point of pride. I'm just not sure the Club alone could cough up enough of them dollar signs to do it, and I don't really see any reason why Hasbro would beyond goodwill to the fans (which I'm generally cynical on).

We'll see one way or another next summer, imho. I dunno about them going for the further expense of new tooling for Royal Guards as well as leasing the snaketail for a full Con set, but I could maybe see Golly being 2017's membership figure, maybe.

DREMEL - Like your idea for a Con set. And the Pythona in that set could indeed be a color variation. I'm still not fully persuaded of the skin color we're seeing here. But Nemesis Enforcer has already been done, and done quite well, in a comic two-pack some years back. He's big enough as a modern figure that he works well with the traditional-style figures.

chad_ghost - I can barely manage one subscription. I think sometime between now and next March I'm just going to have to flip a coin or something.

joemichaels70 - Oh, come on, who does BFS think they're kidding with that?! Do it in the right colors, stick the right head on it, and we're done. And it would appear that BFS is on good terms with the Club, since we know they're doing a lot of the Club's new sculpts. Might not take that much to talk them into it.

They're not kidding anybody with anything. Naga isn't in any way an attempt to 'backdoor' a Golobulus; he's their attempt to do their own thing because they want to do their own toyline and *if* they can can rich by doing something better than the cheapskates at the Club/Hasbro are too afraid to even try, mores the better for them.

Well whether kidding or not I knew as soon as I saw this toy line that no matter the price I would have to get this figure to make a proper Golobulus. It is a dead ringer/no brainer.
