So I'm planning to build an "original" character out of a 25th Joe/Microman hybrid. It'll essentially be a Microman upper chest with Cobra Officer arms/abs (and some random 25th legs, which I haven't decided yet).

Rather than using the Microman arm ball joints (which are prone to nasty paint-rub), I'm thinking of modding the chest to accommodate the Officer's, ball joints and all.

Anybody tried this yet?

Before anyone asks, YES, it needs to be a Microman (standard) chest, and YES, that piece will be covered by modified Microman armor, so it won't look weird... the chest piece itself will never be seen without it.

Your thoughts, ladies and gentlemen?

fill indside the sholder area of the mm torso front w/ miliput and then put some plastic wrap over the miliput (repeat with back of torso) it and then push the arm into the miliput on top of the platic wrap

Just did something similar a week ago. I put a MM torso onto s SHS Ghostrider lower. The only major mod was flattening out the MM torso at the bottom.
Also, it was the whole MM upper I used.

yojoe-a-go-go and JFAK, thanks for your advice! It's definitely appreciated.

I'm off of work today, so I'm going to try and see how the pieces fit together.

If the MM chest is never gonna be see and you're not gonna use the arms, then why must it be there? This sounds like a *LOT* of surgery for pretty much no payoff.

The Microman armor that's going to cover the Microman chest will only fit that particular chest piece, unfortunately. The armor won't even fit over a 25th Snake Eyes chest, and even if I modded both the figure and the armor, the fit would still be really bad.

If I could avoid a pain-in-the-ass build, that would be awesome, but I think my hands are tied right now.

This is a project that is still in the planning stages... it won't get built until I finish my Johann Kraus custom (probably another couple weeks), so I've still got time to work out the construction issues.

Thanks again to everyone for their insight.

Ah, I see. I'm betting that if I were in this situation, I'd prolly surgerate the 25A chest until it's basically just the various 'grabs' for the abdomen and shoulder posts; but go with your gut and give us some WIP pics to see how it's going, man.

If it's a matter of wanting the armor, I'd say it would be easier dremeling the torso down then all that modding to the MM torso (I had to make the MM a nub to get the HALO armor to fot for my Spartan customs.)
