I love your list, and think its great you included some of the more obscure characters like the BF 2000, whcih I am also a fan of!

I'd be so torn putting together a top 100, but I like that you based on figures you owned. I'd like to try out something similiar though it'd take time, and I'd probably choose to do figures as well, which is different from my top characters. For example, Clutch is in my top 10 of characters, but there isn't a Hasbro released figure that'd be in my top 100

I can relate to that, absolutely! Some of my favorite characters never even made it into toy form. I mention Dr. Venom, but Billy, Fred VII and many other great characters never got a toy in RAH.

Another point is that the Joe-women always fascinated me, they still do. Scarlett, Lady-Jaye. Awesome characters, barely in the top 100. And many of you know my love for the Baroness - who didn't even make the top 100!

The good thing about making the list yourself is that you don't necessarily need to have good arguments. My favorite character may be Psyche Out or Storm Shadow. But I put B.A.T at number one because I did.

I'd also contemplate including customs on my list. Despite never being released by Hasbro, my custom figures make up a huge part of my collection!

For me, character is a big part of it. If you look at my top 4, those are really strong characters in the comics and cartoon. It isn't really until the teens before I sell out for good toys over good characters. But I know if I did 100, I'd really be scraping the barrel character-wise.

One thing that would influence my own list is how much fun I had with particular figures and how important they were in my own little world as a kid.

Both of these hold very true for me, many of the characters I played with most as a kid always had the most developed characters. Tracker, for example is someone that was never shown in the Marvel comic or cartoon (except for an appearance in one or two DIC episodes) and the figure isn't highly regarded among collectors because of the odd color scheme and pants. However, Tracker was always a major player to me, and would defintely be near the top of my list.

Pathfinder, Dodger, Big Ben, Salvo, and Heavy Duty are also great examples of this. These figures saw a lot more use from me than Duke, Snake Eyes, Hit n Run, Clutch and Low Light

Enjoyable read. As I was going over it I was like "Yeah, definitely a top 100 figure (until I got to the top 10)" for just about every character.

A buddy of mine pointed out, though, that a "top 100 ARAH figures" means you're including over a quarter of the ARAH figures.

Indeed, 100 is a good percentage of the entire amount of ARAH figures. But that was a bit of the fun too, we've seen top 10 lists before, I wanted to make something slightly different. And I guess you can say I'm proving a point. I mean, how easy is it to pick out 100 ARAH figures you like? There were just that many great figures made.

What were your top ten?

My personal top 10 (in no order, except for no. 1 and 2), and the only justification I'll offer is that I just played with these the most because they were the most fun to play around with. Also, these will all be the original versions.

1. Firefly
2. Snake Eyes
3. Rip Cord
4. Airborne
5. Snow Serpents
6. Night Viper
7. Wild Weasel
8. Barbecue
9. Crimson Guard
10. BAT

And I guess that, in fairness since you pointed out most of your top 10 seems to be concentrated in '86-'88, I'll point out that most of my top 10 comes from '83-'85.

Payload is wayyy too high....and WTF with Quarrel. But otherwise, I think this is a reasonable list.

It's funny 4 out of my favorite characters and figures are together at 34-31

My fascination for Quarrel is explained further here: http://toysandbacon.blogspot.com/2012/0 ... arrel.html

As for your favorites, I'd assume it's the three from 1986, along with maybe Recondo? Great figures, awesome characters. They saw some heavy action back in the day. I swear, it was accidental that they were grouped together. I even mention the Special Missions issue where Roadblock, Recondo and Dial Tone go to South America to stop a nazi.
