Hey all! Just thought I'd share my latest WIP, Green Lantern. Wasn't a WIP until I noticed some joint touch-ups from the pic. I used the MSHS Mr.Fantastic body. I wanted to use the head as well, but with the help of my younglings, the head became MIA. Instead I used a GTG Spitcurl head(minus the curl and a bit of modding). As always, tell me what you think.

Looking sweet! I was going to do something similar using a Reed or Daredevil body, but then remembered that I have like 6 GLs made with Micromen and don't want to have to re-do all of them. :P

Looks really good though - that head is perfect (I might use mine to update my MM Hal Jordan.)

The only critique I can think of is you should try to get a fist for the right hand so he can do some "ring-slingin" :D

The neck looks a little long, but that's a common thing with the Mr. Fantastic base.

Other than that, he looks good!

Nice, clean paint applications, dude!

I'd go with these suggestions. A GL really does need that ring fist to look right. And the neck is a little long. I'd start by getting the head to sit lower before modifying the neck though.

Nice work, especially on the head. You should definitely get a fist to maybe swap out for ring-slinging poses.

Thanks guys for all the feedback. I had planned on using a MM fist to interchange, but didn't look quite right. I may look for another figure with a fist clenched. As for the neck, I agree on the suggestions as well. Just not sure how to mod the neck and have it still able to move. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

For the neck ball, what I did for my Batman & Moonknight (both using MLS necks) - First I cut the base of the head down back below the jawline so that it was more in line with the MLS necks, then I used the Dremel to make a bigger opening at the base of the head (including right behind the jawline) so that the neck would fit with the head properly. Then I Dremeled out the hole for the peg that holds the head to the neck and used a drop of superglue at the top of the peg where it attaches to the head and they have all the range of motion as the other MLS figures.

Here are some pics of my HeMan WIP (since my Bats and Mooney are glued on) - hopefully they'll clear up what I was trying to say:

You'll definitely want to practice on a couple of fodder heads first, unless you're a Master Dremeler ;)

Hope that helps!

lol - looking at the pics, they do look like ammo belts - but it's just brown ribbon I'm using for his outfit (gray didn't look right after I gave him a pair of pants.) I need to do the little iron cross emblem and work on a belt buckle.

That's a Mr. Fantastic?

Wow.

I had to look twice.

Great conversion job here. The head, even though it's a sub, works perfectly.

Hey guys! I finally got around to modding the neck to fit better with the torso. Updated pic in the first thread. Still want to fix the right hand as well. The normal scale MM fist is too small for this fig, so if anyone has an extra MM Supes comic style fist or one of the wrestler MM fists that they don't have plans for, pm me.
