After seeing Speed Racer, I am dying to make a Racer X figure, he's been a fav of mine since I first say the original cartoon as a kid.

Has anyone tried putting the 25th Anniversary figures into the Mattel Speed Racer cars from the movie, specifically Racer X's two cars?

It just doesn't look right. It looks like the figures are sitting in a go-cart. I'd say to get one of the bigger remote control ones and one of these little ones. You can use the seats and other layouts to make the remote control one work. It would be in scale then, but it'll require some work. The $20 Speed Racer cars are nice, but they're too big. It's just the usual Mattel screw ups here.

Yeah, even the Speed Racer figures are too big for the cars. I bought Speed and the Mach 5, and when I tried to put him in he looked like an adult trying to squeeze into a kid's car ride at the carnival. Plus, the seat belts they stick in them are a pain in the arse to deal with as well.

I dunno I am thinking about getting the Japanese car, it reminds me of the AR Spiders that I used to see as a kid they looked so tiny compared to my folks staionwagon ...I jsut wish Mattel thought to do the right scale...

Glad to know this I was thinking of picking up the Mach for something. I thought it looked a bit tight though.

I was doing a comparison in the store and the Joe figures are at least one inch taller than the Speed Racer figures. Too bad, I really like the designs of the Shooting Stars.

So to search for the ninja would be a waste of time you'd say huh :shifty:

Mattel, they should stick to doing hot wheels and leave the merchandising to competent toy maker OUH!
