To be honest, I'm not really. I've made commitments last year that require me to be there, but I think the September con is still fresh in my mind. Overall I know I'll have fun, but many of the people I like seeing there are not coming for various reasons.

The con set is neat, but I'm not overly excited about it. There's not much I'm looking for right now, so there's not much excitement there either.

I think that perhaps because it hasn't been a full year yet, I'm not that pumped.

Anyone else feel this way?

Yeah... Not so much so. The con doesn't really have me excited this year. The set's nice, but I haven't heard of any awesome guests coming or anything to peak my interest. I am looking forward to hanging out & I'm not leaving Texas without riding a mechanical bull. And no doubt promptly getting thrown...

Dont worry dude, last years Con was half Joes and half boozin'. And I predict I will be doing the same this year, so feel free to join us at BoozerCon 08.

But overall, I dunno what it is but I am not as pumped about it. That will prolly change when I get there and get some jell-o shots in me. :-P

I don't drink and bar atmospheres dont really appeal to me, so thats not really a draw. The people are more of a draw than the Joes, and like I said many of the people I hang out with aren't coming so dammit, now I have to go make new friends.

Not really. David puked all over himself and was sick the entire next day last year, and kinda put a damper on things. It was funny as hell while it was happening, and is funny to this day to tease him about. Overall there isn't too much appeal to me regarding bars.

The only reason that I went to the bar at last years was cause CabanaJack asked me to go shmooze with the Hasbro guys, which was cool. Then Mike from Hasbro got drunk and became quite the "LASER BLAST HOLE" and made some snide remarks to me so I made a final comment to him and ignored him the rest of the weekend when he tried to talk to me.

Being surrounded by drunk or soon to be drunken people isn't a good environment for a non-drinker ;-), it's more of an annoyance. And please don't take this as me trying to say that drinkers are bad, etc., it's just a personal preference with an explanation of why it doesn't appeal to me.

I really just enjoy sitting down talking. When Scramble and Kamakura stayed with me in NO, we stayed up all night for days on end, talking and talking and THAT was a total memory that I cherish and look back on as a really, really good time. While I'm still pals with Ryan, I talk to Kamakura several times a week as a result of that friendship that was built that weekend. I still value both of them very much as friends and that was based on the many hours we sat around getting to know one another....that's a good time to me and what I look forward to.

All of my memories of Atlanta were similiar. The puking after the hotel bar, and the near fight break out at the MOTH party are things I prefer to avoid.

Did you share ice cream & brownies while doing each other's hair and nails too?

I'm just asking because that's what Raptor, Stealth and I did so I just want to make sure it was normal.

Hehe, to be perfectly honest with you, Kamakura DID shave my head that weekend.

He did refuse to to the gooch, taint and balls though. He's short, but he's ALL MAN.

I'm not going, and at this point I'm not really bothered by that. Maybe it's because last year was such a blast and that it still seems like it was only a month or two ago, but I'm pretty "Meh" about it this year. The best part of going to Atlanta was meeting all of the Joecustoms crew, and from what I've heard a lot of them aren't going. I guarantee I will be fired up for the '09 convention, wherever and whenever that will be.

Plus I think some of the apathy comes from the club's less than enthusiastic (So far) run up to this convention, almost like it's a bother to put on this year so soon after the Botcon, but it may just be me.

I enjoyed last year from a people perspective.

As for the con itself, I was .. underwhelmed. I guess I had projected in my own mind that it was much larger than it was.

Given the cost of the travel, coupled with the more distant location - it's a real no go this year.

I can't see going to another one unless

1) It's way closer (michigan or maybe Western NY state)
2) I come in to a lot of money, and the cost is no longer an issue.

And the first night we hit a grocery store and loaded up on snacks.
