I was wondering whether or not any of you were aware if any companies have made old style guns in 1/18. I'm talking guns like flintlocks, matchlocks, or wheel-locks. I know POTC had some flintlock pistols, but what about rifles?

I think I saw some of these type of rifles with some of the Chap Mei Pirates figs. A blunderbuss figures quite prominently in my mind.

One of the pirates had one, but they molded it right to the figure; not sure how hard it would be to get it free. Might just be a boil and pop (similar to how I get weapons off the Schleich-style fantasy figures sold at Michaels.)

The only other time I saw a flintlock in this scale was among the dollhouse accessories sold at AC Moore. Then I saw the price: $11. :-(

Actually, Chap Mei pirates do have "seperated" bluderbus, and flintlocks. I think I have some downstairs if you want a pic, PM me.

Pirates of the Carribean figs have flintlocks, if you can find any.

I might have some flintlocks(the rifles and pistols) and powderhorns, from one of the old toys from the sixties and seventies. Give me a day or so to hunt them down, and they're yours.

Well, I'm not in an immediate hurry to get the weapons right this instant, so no need to go tearing through your old toys just yet. Although, I wouldn't mind seeing some pics of the weapons you guys have mentioned.

I would peruse the Playmobile toys as well. The rifles look a little odd, but many of their pistols aren't badly detailed. Maybe a tad large though, but so are a lot of old ARAH pistols.

I thought you were talking Old West rifles (etc) like the Winchester, Greener...

Maybe MJ needs to make some...

Yup, and the current run of pirate figures available at Big Lots has a few flintlocks in a couple of the packs. I don't remember if any of them have a powder horn, but I know I got one in a previous set, so those are out there, too.

Aha! Jackpot! Hasbro has already made a very nice flintlock rifle. They've made several, actually. Their POTJ Tusken Raider Desert Sniper has one that is just about perfect aside from color, there's one in one of the EP I accessory packs, and yet another with the VTSC Tusken Raider. All that's needed really is just a bit of modding, like removing the scope and I could probably even remove the stock if I wanted. I think I just found what I was looking for and it was sitting right under my nose this whole time.

Out of curiosity though, anyone have that POTJ version they'd be willing to part with?

The 25th CG gun would work for an old style 6 shooter.

I have several POTC flintlocks (pistols and a rifle). Look over my Wants in the Swap Shop and make me and offer :)
