So i'm putting together my order form, so I can send it off, and I'm thinking I want to get extras with battle points, so I go digging through my junk, and come to realize that I do not have nearly as many of these things as I thought I did. In an earlier desperate attempt to try to organize my man cave, I've trashed a bunch of them, inadvertently.

So here's my question: How likely is there to be more mail aways later? Any indications, if there are going to be, of who they are? I mean, on the one hand, it seems like there is a lot of enthusiasm for this figure. On the other hand, it's coming from collectors that spend a lot of time and hundreds of dollars on these things. I've noticed Hasbro is doing a mail away for Star Wars. Is this thing enough of a bonafide hit that Hasbro wil do it again?

I've got a couple hundred points left, and I'm contemplating whether or not I'd rather have multiples of some later figure. Don't get me wrong, I like Doc, but if I did get multiples of him, I'd just end up selling or trading the extras.

Honestly, I have a feeling Hasbro is accepting Flag Points now, hoping all but the die-hardest fans will use them up the first time, and they'll never have to be concerned about them again.

I suspect if we get another exclusive, you wont be able to use Flag Points. If you complain, they can always say, "Hey, we gave you ample chance to use them..."

I agree with Straight Edge. I think this is the last time they will have them.
I could also use 100 more points to get my maximum amount of Docs. I know I have a few flag points but I kind of want to keep them.

I still have hundreds of Flag points and I want to get rid of them. :)

I agree. This will most likely be the last time. They kind of added this on at the last second due to fan input at the convention. The use of battle points for additional figures isn't even on the package inlcuded mail away forms. This was a bone thrown to collectors to encourage the sales of the comic packs and spread the nostalgia feeling. The Doc figures will have to sell through first and foremost before they even consider doing another promotion like this. If they end up with a warehouse with Docs you can gurantee this is the end for that kind of promotion.

Then by my logic, you should probably buy up all the Docs you can, sell them on e-bay, and set the money aside to purchase whatever products Hasbro forces us to get for the next mail-order figure.

It may be cycnical, but it's also not good business for Hasbro to continue "giving away" figures that are meant to be incentive to *buy*. They're making good on an old promise by letting us cash in our old incentive points. After this we really can't demand anything from them on the subject.

when you have to PAY for them they aren't giving them away. They are just mail in exclusives. Not free with points like they were in the past and you only pay shipping. :(

Really?

5 bucks for a carded figure, which means they're sending them in a regular sized box, not some little matchbox sized thing... I don't see the 4.95 as anything more than shipping and handling. For a small run figure, with all the production costs of a production level, carded figure, it's only worth what Hasbro's charging if it forces you to buy a bunch of $10 toys to even it out.

In my opinion, that is.

Thanks for the answers, that helped me settle that, but I seem to remember someone saying somewhere that these figures aren't carded. Errghh I think it's in the MC newsletter.

I think the Club and Hasbro both said this figure was carded. TNI even has a sample up. http://toynewsi.com/news.php?catid=9&itemid=12811

Oh, I see where I goofed. the person made reference to the classic mail ins being in a white mailer (or some such) and that they were going to represent that.
