TOLLBOOTH!

My buddy challenged me to make Tollbooth as he hadn't been done before and I think I pulled it off... I promised Hawkeye mine wouldn't look like one of the Village People and then I decided to to take a page out of Xhairs' book and make him all green-bleeding Army true.

The Army Corps of Engineers website was a big help to me in getting a handle on what my 'verse's representation of Tollbooth should be. Hence the unit patch I tried to get to look believable.

look at his filecard, he should have looked (at least) like one of the original 13 in straight-up green:

I like the more military look to him. The only thing I'd like to see is the hardhat repainted: maybe a rust color? (Instead of the original orange, though that might work too.)

Perfect update, it captures the essence of the original with none of the disco fever.

I don't think I've ever seen a custom Tollbooth. Cool idea, although I feel he needs more orange.

His face isn't ugly enough. ;-)

I've always liked Tollbooth, it's nice to see him get some 25th love. :-)

Thanks, folks! Neverminding the vest (why does he need one?), it's cool y'all can actually see Tollbooth there, I know I disguised him pretty well... i.e. took him OFF the Village People roster. :-P

 bc he's freakin Tollbooth, that's why he needs the vest. and he doesn't need to get camouflaged up into anything. i mean come on his "accessory" are a giant bridge-
tossing (NOT laying...freaking TOSSING!) vehicle and a sledge hammer. what's he doing that he has to blend into stuff? nothing. b/c he's Tollbooth, that's why. don't make him toss his bridge on you.

besides with the white helmet, he looks more like hardtop or someone who'd help him out with the Defiant. ;-)

I like it. It doesn't scream "Tollbooth" to me, but it works. Personally, I loved the original figure and never got a Village People vibe from him. He looked more to me like the hard-workin', hard-drinkin', hard-fightin' sort of chap who'd swagger into the room, say, "Just tell me where you want a bridge and you got yer bridge." I think it was the smug look on his face, coupled with the cocked to the side hardhat. Add to that that he was the first figure I got who seemed larger than any of the other figures, and he just seemed like a barrel-chested blow-hard who got the job done. He was always one of my favorite characters, and still is to this day.

I like the Han head, TBs hard hat being crooked always suggested he was bit cocky and Han is definitely cocky so there you go. He needs a vest or at least a better tool belt.
Military hard hats have alot of options in color though i don't know if there is any rhyme or reason to those color changes. Most of ours out at the bomb dump where white, but the CE guys usually had a red or a yellow one.

I see nothing of Toolbooth in that figure. He's a camo dude with a hard hat. I think the vest would add alot of making him harken back to the original figure.

I was playing with a bridge layer here just a couple of hours ago and was thinking about this.

There is actually a vehicle in real life that the Bridge layer is based off of. I don't think it is ment to toss it. Rather lays it down. It was used around WW II and through Korea if I am not mistaken.
