At the double exclamation point of JoeMichaels I’m starting a thread for this project.
A couple years back during Custom Celebration I started a science lab as a shoebox diorama. It never did get finished and the shoebox was destroyed.
I’ve never stopped thinking about it and decided it was time to really work on it. I’m making the base out of wood, despite the crazy price tags right now. The floor is going to be granny grate.
My thought is to weather the heck out of it. Like it’s been abandoned for a while before Cobra or someone reopened it.
The inner parts will be modular. The only parts that will be permanent will be the floor, back wall, and the side walls which will only go halfway toward the front.
I’m planning on putting an observation window over the door creating the effect of a second floor overlooking the main space, kinda like the set up in Stargate.
I plan on getting several Joy Toy dio sets to help with things like stairs and cat walks and what not.
I painted up this ToxoLab years ago and it’s been sitting around. I somehow lost the parts that holds the arm in place so I need to figure something out for that. I also have some detail work to do on the various control consoles and computer screens on it.

The floor panels. I’ll need to add a few more.

The different modules I’ve made will also be accessories I can swap in and out for photos. That’s the level of weathering I’m thinking I’ll go with. But only after I make it all pristine and new looking first.
