Everything I do has been inspired by Evilface. He was ahead of his time in so many ways.
I am honoured and priveledged to have some of my earliest work alongside his on his site.
I think that's as close as someone can come to customizing immortality.

The main three people who have helped me evolve over the years are -

John (JFAK)- for bringing so much to so many (Especially the shrinks). Endlessly generous, this guy is a role model's role model.

Dave (Bekker) - For all that is GTG, and for the time, patience and opportunity that he has given me on his site. Nuff said.

Rogg Dogg (Killuminati) - For being the forerunner and cornerstone of soft goods use on customs. He is to me what the Terminator brain chip and arm were to Cyberdyne systems.

Whatever I make or help others with, I will never match up to what these friends of mine have bestowed upon me. For that I will always be grateful.

i've got a ton -- i take something from just about everyone that puts something up...

but some ringers:

i can't remember if it was livevil or evilface that i found first, but they pushed me off to loserville, which then pushed me off to this site.

i gotta say, a couple of my favorites (for my tastes) are a.dream.deferred and lance838 -- those customs are amazing, and few and far between.

i'd also pop in that i envy Adrien's thoughtful and complete customs and world he has going on.

i also dig neckbone's basement and holesnipe's stuff - that really got a fire lit under my butt...

Thanks to JFAK for the mechanics of customizing! (plus he's cool...)

Thanks to Viper and DarkHorse for keeping it fun.

Thanks to Doc Rob and pluv for keeping it nice.

Thanks to Sidewinder for keeping it up (and looking like that one actor.. :shifty: )

Thanks to stealth for his brain,
rap, spin, zg, chief, and, well, brawler, for their brawlingness...

Thanks to beav for running this boat.

oh hell, thanks everybody!

except narceron.
:shifty:

Chad and Matt all the way. It's their stuff that convinced me to start customizing in the first place.

I'd have to say in no particular order

TechnoKyo R.I.P. (I think)
Spin Doctor, I've stolen many ideas from him :D
Carnage717, The man is a genius

I've also stolen alot of ideas from
Cobra command
cobra commander d
matthew (thanks for the raptor idea)
balishivo, I'm still dieing to make a russian naval fighter jet like his
and too many others to name, but I have to say I really dont thing there is a horrible customiser on this board, they all turn out great work.

What, no love for Pluv!

I don't do a lot of customizing, but it seems like whenever I'm looking at group-project entries or just scanning the latest submissions, and I see something really imaginative that catches my eye, when I look to see who made it, its PLUV!

ZG actually sat me down and showed me how to do customs, so I have to give my props there as well.

Unfortunately I don't recall the names of many of the guys that have impressed me but there's two worth mentioning.

Flattery will get you no where sir. Well, maybe to second base if you play your cards right. But that's it. :D

Hey, thanks man! But don't follow me, my sense of direction's awful... Ask CJack... :shifty:

I'm influenced by alot of people on this site, but I definitely have to give props to the big three.

JFAK: Not only is John's stuff fantastic & he's a cool guy, but he supplies me with the majority of my customizing needs, esp head shrinks. You know that scene in Scarface with all the coke? Well that's what the head shrink order I put in with John looks like. And I may snort of few when I get them... :shifty:

AV: He makes fantastic superhero customs & writes up amazing backstories incorporating them into the Joe World. He probably influences my Joeverse more than anything.

Joe Michaels: Gotta give it up to the man that started NJC! I probably wouldn't customize nearly as much if the NJC contest didn't push me to make characters I never would've though of & hone my skills every month. The majority of my improvement has no doubt come from the fact that I'm always working on something for NJC.

sorry man, but i can't/won't take credit for starting the NJC, as much as i would love to...

if you take a look here, you'll see the evolution of the idea -- if anyone is to blame, it's emike, informally challenged by AV, accepted by Steel Bonnet, Darko, Myself, Hypno Hustler, JFAK and others...

BUT,

without getting all mushy, it's lil' notes like that, that make it all worthwhile!

emike, AV, SB, Darko, & the others, take a bow!

Sorry, chad-ghost, but that's funny right now-must be the lack of sleep on my part.

I have a second online account where I send the pics of figures I like to. Anytime I pull up joecustoms and check the newest figures added, I look for the ones that make me think, "I really like that one."

Right now I think there is about three hundred figures/vehicles in that account.

I also have some pics I can't access ('cause they are from the last board turnover in 2005) that I really admired.

I don't want to name names (sounding like a name-dropper) because the list would have everybody's name on it.

All I do is LBC. I'm so into LBC's I don't even have pics of them...:D

I admire and respect anybody that has the skills and contributes new customs to the site.

It might not sound exactly the way I think it means in the critique section, but I do appreciate everyone's efforts.

HAHAHA!!! No Doubt! I get ridiculous some times :) I LUV It!
Thanks AVE! I needed a laugh bro!

The work that got me customizing was tenyokios (!!name slaughter!!) Then I started lurking, and discovered incredible talent such as, DaveAnthony and Iwebeta (as if their not mentioned enough), The PROS From Dover/Hawkeye!!! (no comment), the modification master Aloyosha (almost as good as me ), Cobra Commander D, Hive Viper (for their interesting piece selections), Chad and Mathew, Livevil, Zombieguide, Kamakura, Phobus (for creating ARAH goodness I 'wish' I had when I was a kid.....LOL), ADC Member (for one of the most incredible Serpentors Ive seen.....next to mine of course :) ) C Urbach (for not only customizing for the character, but the ART!), Lance ###, Cobra Command, Double Dealer (for crazy sculpting), And THEUNKNOWN!!! Thats right! I impress myself!

And a special shout out to Fett80!!! For being an awesome F'n guy!

And anybody who customizes period! Its great you share your work with us! Everyone has their own ideas and style to offer, and its been great watching this strange crazy hobby grow!!

Well, if you wanna go inspiration, I'd have to say Spin Doctor is mine.
While I do ARAH and he does new sculpt, we both thrive to make poseable and playable custom, although he succeeds so much better than I do at it.

Matthew's Mayor figure was what inspired me to join JoeCustoms. The McGyver figure actually showed me that Sigma 6 is customizable. Narceron felt like the first person I met on JC, and he inspired me.

Adding more to my list..

Chief, for a slew of recent customs that I also coin as stealworthy, especially the latest one :shifty: .

Spin Doctor was responsible for me actually appreciating New Sculpt. Long time ARAH, and now, I can blend a little here, and a little there.

Like DarkJedi, I love the LBC. So much so, I want to go after the current title holder :shifty:. I'm a full time artisan who really hates to paint, for the most part.

On the dio front, aside from the other Justin and Eric, Spectre(get well soon please..) MacrossMaster and Midgarn are also added to my ever growing list of guys to watch out for.

More listage on tap...
