AWESOME!!

At first the idea of WW2 German Ghostbusters gave me pause, too, then I saw good ol' Winston. If these gents are working with someone of African descent and made him an official member of the squad, they're not Nazis per se.

Sorta saw it as three scientists who got far into their research, only to be given an ultimatum:

Work in service to Der Führer.... or be executed as enemies of the Empire and have all work/research/tools seized, then used for unholy purposes.

2 cents, worth exactly that.

Yeah, it was tricky to figure out how to make them all work together without writing Winston out. I think, of all of them, Winston's the least happy with the arrangement. But he recognizes someone has to take on the Apocalypse while the rest of the world is locked in war against itself. I also like the idea that there was a British GhostBusters-like initiative that failed and he's the only one left.

Frankly, it's taking a pretty light-hearted concept and shoe-horning into a REALLY dark period of history.

I'm not entirely convinced it works or is a good idea.
I like the concept, but if it were me I'd tweak the timeline to post VE Day. The Russians and Americans are scrambling to snatch all of Germany's scientists, but with all of the deaths on all of the battlefields, the Brits snatch these 3 so the dead don't take over the world. I think the individual characters still work under that concept especially for Winston having to work with them.

Visually, I think you're absolutely right. I'd want to tweak the design a bit but it really would work.

In execution, I was afraid the red arm-band would just be that detail that pushed it a little too far (even though I think that visual link between the uniforms might be part of what inspired me to do this in the first place). I'm not pretending to know if this crossed the line to more problematic than fun, but they aren't wearing anything explicitly SS related. Yes, it's a heavily Nazi/facist influenced visual, but it's as far as I'm comfortable taking it for now. I need to let the project sit around a while, see how I feel about it and make sure it's falling fully on the side of scifi/althistory fun... And I certainly don't mean to suggest the armband would push it over the line, I just need to step back from the project before I add anything like that.

But I'm only writing all of that because it's a very tempting visual to incorporate.

Anyway, finally got these all archived at my site with better pictures of their toys. Being on mostly full time dad duty really makes it hard to find the time to customize, let alone photograph, upload, and document everything.

Thanks everyone for the support and suggestions!

If you want to take a crack at something similar, now's the time. Check out the current NJC!
