Awesome news and it's great that it got funded within 24 hours. I love all the customizable web gear, pouches, etc. I'm curious to know more about the figures construction. Are they simply boil n' pop parts? Are they mostly compatible with ME Joe parts? It would be great to see some side-by-side comparison shots.

Hey Folks!
Thank you for the positive support! The level of excitement has surpassed even our wildest expectations...again, THANK YOU!

We will post LOTS more image on our facebook page (we're setting up several "photo albums" for each figure & accessory). And you are so right, they look so much better in person! The Kickstarter project format limits the number and size of pictures you can add.

The driving force behind the whole project is "modularity" and "customization." With the different color options and the wide variety of accessories, you can mix &match for almost any configuration. Also, LOTS of headgear (I can NOT stand figures without head cover!).

No screw in the leg (I've never liked the "seam" down the center of the thigh). No o-ring, but does have a similar articulation in the waist to a vintage "type" figure. The customization is based more on the wide variety of body color options and the vast array of painted accessories. Heads are removable.

Marauder GR won't be at the con, but the "blue" prototype will be on display at the Boss Fight Studio booth. The painted prototypes "might" be at the con at another booth, just need to work out some details.

When we get product "off the production" tool, we can show some side-by-side comparison pictures with other currently available figures. We won't do it with prototypes since they are "104%" prototypes and the size difference with a "regular" 100% figure will just cause unnecessary confusion.

As for "taking the figure apart" that is something we'll experiment with on the "production" items. Our first priority is a solid, well made, articulated figure that holds a pose, works smoothly with the modular accessories and has the required paint applications. THEN we'll look at how to take it apart. :-D

Thanks again for your support!
MJ

If you need some, uh, people for disassembly and interchangeability testing, we might be able to help you out. :shifty: Just throwing that out there.

I'm sure they'll need several beta testers. I'll throw my hat in the ring as well :shifty:

Since the goal has been met, this is when everyone gets charged. There's still 29 days to accrue more pledges and possibly hit stretch goals.

Thanks for the help!

They look great. I do hope a lower leg that just looks like bloused boots (regular US army/marine style) will be available at some point too

Yes, the hefty shin-guard is a cool look, but certainly not an every figure look! I agree a more standard military boot look on the lower leg would be more flexible for other uses. OR if the shin-guards were removable! Well, maybe down the road.

One other small hesitation - am I reading the details correct that each fig in the Kickstarter basically comes with just enough gear for that one fig? Some of the pics make it look like you have lots of extra gear for each fig, but then when I look more closely, I think that pic was meant to more illustrate the total possibilities if all the stretch goals are met, and add'l gear was purchased. I'm sure MJ will put up all kinds of gear packages for sales post-Dec-2014, but wanted to clarify what you're getting with each fig from the Kickstarter.

The modular aspect is where the joe line SHOULD be going. Can you imagine getting a joe figure that let you do this?
Kudos to these guys, thinking outside the box and way ahead of the curve.

I would be more than happy to be a customizing beta tester as well :)

Hey!
You are right about the reason for the figure displayed with all the gear...to show the possibilities. On the Kickstarter project, under the Green Camo figure image with all the gear "spread out", we clarify what is included with each figure (will also add the info again to the FAQ section). The reason for the stretch goals is be able to release MORE of the gear. If we would have released each figure with ALL the gear, the individual figure cost would have been almost $40 for EACH figure and the "starting" funding goal would have been closer to $80K.

After the items release (and we have filled all the Kickstarter preorders), we'll have all the items available for sale. In sets and individually (just like we do with our current gear).

Thanks!
MJ

I just want to add that at the $54 level, getting the three figures is a good deal. And I am hoping to get some additional funds to add to my order, so I can order some of the Stretch Goal items. Thanks, Marauder John, for taking the initiative to do something so cool! These figures will become my new buck for custom troops, without a doubt.

This is the first kickstarter I have participated in and I must say it's fun watching the amount climb. I'm in at a level that gets all the stretch goal bonuses and 1 is already unlocked. I'm hoping 2 or 3 more stretch goals are reached.
