This is quite possibly the saddest thing I've ever read on this site, man. Make your own story!

You didn't make your own story when buying G.I. Joe, MASK, Thundercats, He-Man, etc..

You went off the created story and added/altered/changed/expanded as you played.

But you started with the supplied foundation.

Why is it sad to want a well-thought out toy? I'm not a customizer. I don't have the budget to collect everything that looks cool. I collect by how things relate to me. I'm a story guy. So if the toy doesn't have a story that connects with me, I have little to no interest in it.

I have to kind of agree with both of you here. I love these toys, but they're too damn expensive for me to buy in to.

BUT I didn't use any of the established fiction when I was a kid. I didn't read the comics, I didn't watch the cartoon, and I threw out the filecards. I just made stuff up as I went along.

yeah, I think making up the story is how I got to where I am with the hobby today. My Steeler figure was played with every day, but only once in a blue moon as Steeler.

This line at half the price, and I'd own all of it. Haven't ruled out owning some of it, even as is.

I think these are amazingly sculpted/painted figures, but the statue was the thing that interested me the most, ha ha, and I can't justify $40 + shipping to get it. Bravo to the people who are making these though.

Some of the figures have an interesting design and the look of the vehicles is cool, but transforming vehicles isn't my schtick.

I've never been able to get into the whole walking mech genre. The only way I can justify the JOE Mechs is that they are sorta portable Phalanx CWIZ defense systems that only move to set up.

Sounds like what the Prussians thought of tanks.

I've taken a look at this line, it looks really cool and the details are awesome. The idea these thing turning into mecha was kind of a surprise until I saw it was Japanese. There is a lot of awesome going on here. That being said, I'm not really too interested in the line. The big armored vehicle is something I might be able to use, but the price point makes that not possible. Even if this stuff was in the $30-$40 for the vehicles, I'd probably still pass.

Uh, Imma beat you to it: it's [LASER BLAST]'. The love Kit Lau slathers this stuff with is glaringly obvious before one even opens the box, and it just gets better going in.
