I keep trying to like it, but it's nearly unwatchable. Sunbow could be silly or improbably, but they really shot for the bottom with DIC. I might be able to forgive the animation if the stories weren't so bad. Was there really anything wrong with having Joe & Cobra face off on the battlefield that they had to make them play football, teach kindergarten, etc?

I watched the episode "Chunnel" because I kind of did like the DiC version of Scarlett, and that episode was the one that she featured most prominently within. But oh it hurt. They took one of the strongest female characters I've ever seen in any program, and turned her into a girl. By that I mean all the character was concerned about while visiting London was being able to go shopping, and she and Duke went out shopping in their combat uniforms. And she was racking up the credit card bill, and poor Duke was having to carry around all her bags and packages.

For as bad as the show was, I will say the two part episode with the Headman was pretty decent, except of course the Crimson Guard being contacted by what appeared to be a secretary saying that his sister had been put in the hospital and he decided not to return to base but to go visit her in his Cobra uniform.

I liked "Chunnel" because we got Big Ben and Big Bear out of it (and coincidentally, a friend of mine from England happened to be visiting when it first aired). The two-parter that featured Joe and Cobra teaming up against the HeadHunters I liked because I like episodes where the good guys and the bad guys have to team up to fight someone even worse.

Apart from that -- dear lord, those clip episodes. And the football game. And "Kindergarten Commandoes" AAAAIIIGGGGGGG!

I like to cite those examples as well as to why DIC episodes suck. Although Sunbow did do an Episode that was pretty sexist with Lady Jaye being more concerned with shopping than anything else... they at least animated her in civvies.

The football episode is The Guns of Navarone compared to Kindergarten Commandos. I watched that on a whim on Youtube awhile back, and honestly started wondering if I was going to die seven days later.

Watch "I found you, Eve". That episode is still among my faborites of any GIJoe cartoon.

And I'll take The Sword over anything Sunbow has to offer.

I'll agree with J_man, "I Found You, Eve" was a good one. The Sword was pretty good too, I dunno why, but that V4 Snake Eyes look always appealed to me. Unfortunately it was another episode that made Scarlett look really incompetent.

I did like the couple of episodes that featured Sky Patrol. I liked the way they were portrayed, and Maurice Lemarsche voiced one of them, can't remember which one off hand. He's one of my favorite voice over actors.

That was a good episode and the main reason it's a standout episode is it's one of the VERY few DiC episodes that went into the past of one of the characters -- Ambush -- and treated him with a decent measure of respect.

I can't help but think of the line from the chappelle show " cocaine is a hell of a drug."

I actually just started watching these. I'm starting with Dragonfire of course which most people consider the best that DIC had to offer. That is probably because it was the closest to the Sunbow toons they had. We will see just how far I can get in to this before I can't take it anymore. :)
