I tend to view Volga the same way these days, especially since we got Daina (by name and appearance) in 2004. At that point, I sort of classified Volga as a different individual, at least insofar as my own "Joe-verse" was concerned, but I was still very pleased to have had the involvement in her creation that I did. She's still a viable member of the Guard as far as I'm concerned.

And where'd you find a HIND copter?

I actually took it the other route - Volga is the pilot - she is the Russian/Female version of Wild Bill sans the cowboy schtick - Diana's Cousin who flies for the Czech Air Force and is attached to the OG - she isn't a bombshell like her cousin but she is the unsung hero of the OG getting them from point a to point b

Interesting note about Volga. When I told them that I'd made a custom Daina out of a Lady Jaye figure, really just giving the figure different hair, I sort of assumed that Hasbro would likely do the same thing. Instead, they sculpted a whole new head (but kept the Lady Jaye-type cap). When I received the prototype to paint, while it used a production-level 1997 Lady Jaye body, the head was plain white, and felt like some sort of resin. I was also told that they'd brought back one of the sculptors of the original line specifically to create the new head, which was really the first new sculpt since the line had initially ended in 1994. I thought that was rather cool.
