I had a custom Jayne Cobb made for me several months ago but it was destroyed in my house fire in February. With the new 25th figures I decided to make a new one. After a failed attempt to make the Roadblock arms work I took a risk and cracked the chest on this guy and with some modifications used the Major Barrage arms. They are a little bigger than I'd like but they work and I'm happy with how he turned out. I added the Gung-ho holster so he'd have a nice big gun strapped to his thigh. I wanted to give him the Marauder XM-8 I have but I couldn't find it so the HK will work for now. Plus Jayne has a nice armory so I can swap out guns with him and have it fit his character perfectly.

Head, arms: Major Barrage
Torso, upper legs: 25th Roadblock
Lower legs: 25th Beachhead
Holster: 25th Gung-Ho
Rifle: Marauder, Inc.

Yeah I know. As I was working on this one I got to thinking, "who would make a good Mal?" and "that guy would be perfect for Book!" and "I wonder if this would work good for Wash?" so yeah I'll be doing the rest of the crew in 25th style.

Glad you like him!

That's really pretty good. I can dig it.
And for those of you, like me, who didn't know the name. . .

I love it! Such a memorable character deserves a good custom. The arms work perfectly.

I really want to go back and put a decal or something on his T-shirt because it looks really plain as is and Jayne always had a logo or something on his shirts. If I knew Chinese I'd write something funny on his chest in Chinese.

Very cool, and very stolen :P

I'd been wanting to build a Serenity crew for a while now, and now I have a great place to start.

Any plans for the rest of the gang, so I can uh, compare your ideas to mine? :chiefty:

:P

First of all, that figure looks great! Love the parts choices, and the modifications to the chest and arms look very nice.

Second of all, damn! I've had that head and a modified set of arms sitting around for months waiting to make a Jayne custom, and you beat me to it (and had a much better idea for the legs, as well). Nicely done.

Thanks guys! This one was a simple idea that went through a few different parts combinations and paint schemes before I got him the way I like him.

As for the rest of the crew, I don't know what you're talking about. Jayne IS the crew! LOL Yeah I got some ideas but I want to get them all put together before revealing just yet. They will all be 25th based though with the exception of some heads and a few other parts that aren't available yet. And I have an idea for Inara that I can't wait to try out. So stay tuned!

Great custom man! The Barrage head works quite well for Adam Baldwin.

Wow, I thought I was the only one who saw the striking resemblance between Barrage and Jayne. Excellent job.

Awsome custom of an awsome character! I definately think he needs some form of graphic on his shirt though as more often than not, Jayne had some design or another on his shirt in just about every episode.

I have had a Barrage head that Rasputin gave me almost 2 years ago set aside for a Jayne Cobb, but haven't gotten around to him (or the other members of the crew) just yet :(
