Ok, so after all the talk in the "LXG" Thread, I got the itch to build a Lara Croft custom. I'd had one in the "to-do" box for years, but needed a Spy Troops Lady Jaye torso to complete it. well after having so much luck with the 25A Lady Jaye, it was a no-brainer for a 25A version.

I based the figure on her outfit from "Legend" - and I played a few rounds of the game to get back in the groove. The problem is, I still haven't found the right head for her. I started with a modded JvC Scarlett head and sculpted some more hair and added a different pony tail, but it still didn't look right. I finally went with a 25A Scarlett head -- it still isn't where I want it (she needs bigger, browner eyes), but it'll do until I can find a better one:

I wanted to make the holsters removable, since I'm planning on making a "temperate-weather" version and these were my last two BBI working holsters (can't find them anymore), but it wouldn't stay on right, so I just permanently attached them. The other bad part is that the backpack interferes with her ponytail - I'll have to go back and fix that before it snaps the tail off.

Here's the original head - she just didn't look right in the face:

Torso/arms/feet/backpack: LJ
head/legs: Scarlett
boot tops: SE

Cheers!

Man, that's freakin' awesome! The Scarlett heads works perfectly, I think. Consider that idea stolen, because I love me some 1:18 scale videogame figures.

Man, I'm glad I had the foresight to scarf all the LJ figs I could as I'm definately gonna use one to copy this. I agree that neither head is quite right, but this is definately nice nontheless.

Wow, that is cool. Had Lara on my "to do" list for a while now (both in real life and customs wise) :-P .
I'm gonna come off as a pimp again now (seriously not intended), but you know there is a GTG Lara head with the long ponytail?
It's a movie version rather than from the game - I can shoot you a link if you like.

Awesome work as usual, Chief. And the head matches a Lara better than it does Scarlett.
Wet Suit Lara Croft now? Or Evening Gown Lara Croft? 8-O

Thanks everyone! The Scarlett head is actually growing on me now -- it's not the "Legend" head I want, but it matches the older game versions well enough, IMO.

I even watched "Cradle of Life" last night - I had forgotten that Leonidas was in that one ;)

DH - I thought about the GTG head, but I just straight-up can't paint eyes worth a damn, and the look I'm going for would require perfectly painted eyes, so I'm gonna have to wait for a "factory" head (or at least face - I can always graft/sculpt hair on it) to get this just right.

I had planned on using an Elizabeth Swan head, but it was a little bit off (there are enough subtle variants in paint jobs that I may find one that works) - I know I have some more buried in the fodder bin, or I can always run back down to KBs - they were running a buy one-get one on POTC figs last time I was there.

I had to go back and touch up the paint on the joints after I snapped some pics of her on the bike -- gotta love a hi-res camera :P

I don't know if I'll do wetsuit Lara or not -- I'll probably make a generic chick wetsuit out of a 25A Scarlett fig and just use it for all my females (since they have swappable heads and all.) Evening gown Lara would be cool, but not too practical. My next one will have her in pants and a "Wooly Pully" sweater from the Kazakhstan mission - I figure that one can help her blend in with her SAS/Joe buddies when not in the jungle ;)

Thanks again!

That's one of the better Lara customs I've seen (And I do keep an eye on that character for ideas on making one for myself). Nothing to critique.

Naw, he'll probably do the 'nude code' Lara...:chiefty:

Personally I wouldn't mind seeing the movie 'silver' costume.

Anyway, nice work on the figure, chief!

(PS-now you have to do the Danger Girls)

 You keep this up and I'll start finding use for these 25A figures! <grumble, grumble>

That said, NICE! Hell, VERY nice! :-D Smooth all the way from thead to toe--glad you went with the pony tail look, that other one just kind of...it's too tame. The head you used is HER, dead on.
