Looks good. The only thing that keeps drawing my attention is the boots. They're very plain compared to the rest of the figure. I think a wash would help that a lot.

That's an awesome custom! The camo is perfect as well as your choice of weapon (love the Marauder weapons). The extra packs and pouches give it some nice details. I agree with JFAK075 on the boots though. A wash or maybe a darker color could work. It's all personal preference really.

Nice custom. I agree with the dirty-up-boots sentiment. The camo is top-notch!

You really nailed the camo. I've never had any luck with chocolate chip-ing anything.

Great camo painting! The parts all go together nicely. The only thing I would do would be to give all the pouches and pockets a uniform color so they all match. The pouch and canteen on the back look like they're just stuck there. I think if they were the same color as the rest, they'd look more at home.

I actually did that on purpose. I figure Stalker would be the kind of soldier who would go with function of form. Just adding on whatever he needs whenever he needs it. Ultimately it came down to doing something that brings out some character versus something that is more pleasing to the eye. Tough call either way, but I'll keep that in mind next time.

I also went ahead and added the updated pic with a wash of darker tan and sand textured paint on his boots. I definitely like that look better.

Great job.

The head is just perfect, and the wee change to the boots make all the difference.

I like your rationale behind the disparate pouches, but IMO a uniform look would be better- but thats just me, and I cant argue with your logic.

Do you mind me asking, how easy/difficult is Choc Chip camo?

Ive never actually tried to do it.

Thanks for the comments guys. Next time I'll go with the uniform pouches and making the boots look really dirty.

Besides all black "night camo" I'd say it is one of the easiest. :D A base of tan, followed by a few clouds of milk chocolate brown (I intentionally did a second coat on the insides of the cloud to make it a little darker there), some black dots, and then add some offset light tan on all of those black dots. It is really hard to mess that up and if you do a little tan to clean up and you're good to go again. :D

In order of difficulty, from easiest to hardest, here is my view of painting camo.

All black (SWAT, night force)
Splotches (think RAH style green camo)
Chocolate Chip Camo
Coffee spill modern desert camo
Arctic (just because white is a pain to work with and shows all your painting flaws)
Tiger Force 2 color striping
Woodland or other 4 color camo scheme
Tiger Stripe camo realistic
Anything with lines (Python Patrol, RAH style digital camo (like Recoil or Shockwave)
Digital camo realistic
