A question comes to mind.... how will Hasbro respond to Objet or Object surface quality printed material being available in colors to the masses? That really is *the* game changer .

Yup, read it and drooled. The Objet and Perfactory machines are on my list of "if I won the lottery..." purchases. It's amazing to see that the big guys use tools that are at least somewhat available to hobbyists. It's one of those things you just kind of assume but never think about.
The thing that it shows, too, in talking about how it is "a whole factory condensed into a few rooms", is that a cottage industry of custom toys/small run toys can become viable pretty easily. And the small-run guys won't have to deal with overseas factories or expensive local manufacturing if they don't want to. They can set up the factory themselves, in a garage. Or a group of guys can go in together on the equipment and do a timeshare with it.
