Hasbro-Discovery Hub Television Network has revealed their 2013 - 2014 Program Slate and there is NO new G. I. Joe related programming.

Previously, we were told that G. I. Joe: Renegades is on hiatus and it might pick up where G. I. Joe: Retaliation will leave off. However, when the Hub 2012- '13 slate was revealed, some fans were disappointed that there weren't any evidence to prove this (mind you, Retaliation was suppose to release June 29 last year).

So the prof is that G. I. Joe: Renegades is never coming back, Hub 2013- '14 plans revealed nothing G. I. Joe. Most of the Hasbro's popular franchises are making a return or making new entrances but the same cannot be said about one of Hasbro's oldest franchises; G. I. Joe.

What will the future hold for the G. I. Joe franchise on television? Would the popularity of G. I. Joe: Retaliation trigger a need for a new Animated Series? or Is G. I. Joe gone for good from television?

god i hope the new movie lets them make a better toon as Renegades was a epic fail for me as they took the Ateam idea and went way to far with it .they messed up so many of the charters with that show. i know joe gets revamped every few yrs now but why cant they use stuff from the 80s and just update it.

also change up the core charters ie let new ones on the team vs SE , duke, RB, scarlet all the time. hell let flint run the team for awhile or let hawk be back in charge anything will be better the Renegades imho.

How far out does Hasbro, or anyone for that matter, usually announce a new TV show? Does this mean there is no chance until 2015, or just that it hasn't been revealed and 2014 is still a possibility?

Well for a fall 2013 schedule they'd have to be in production now. I think we would have heard something about it if they were. 2014 is still a possibility but more likely fall or right around the holidays (which is when Renegades made its late debut). I think we'll have to wait and see what those Retaliation opening weekend numbers are before we see a push for more media. With the delay, that number now has to carry two marketing pushes. I think that is why we're seeing all these international openings and early release movie dates for it. They need a big opener.

The way Renegades ended, it kind of set it up so any following seasons could be the formation of the G.I.*JOE team, so to have shows featuring more than just the same five was a strong possibility, eventually becoming what the Sunbow series was: a new adventure every episode. Maybe an underlying continuation of a story, but something new every week.

i didnt watch it after the first 2 eps i hope they do as joe needs a toon bad. as toons always gets the kids to buy lol. i just hope its like sundow with new adventures and new charters as the team needs to grow past the same old 5 as thats why joe was so cool back then as you always had new ppl show up.

In almost every episode of the series, there was a"guest star" so to speak, that was either a Joe or Cobra that the fie would meet and would help them out in one way or another, Breaker, Airtight, Snow Job, Jinx, Heavy Duty, and Barbeque to name a few, as well as Major Bludd, Firefly, Destro, Scrap Iron and the Crimson Twins and Red Star.

A second season could focus on the formation of the team, as the original five go back to these characters and recruit them to the team, meeting other characters along the way and bringing them in on the team too.

Didn't the director or producer die? I'm sure that might have some reason why it's not coming back in the way they wanted.

No, it was the lead character designer Clément Sauvé who passed away from cancer in 2011.

It wasn't his only time working on GIJoe. Prior to working on this, he did covers for Devil's Due's Dreadnoks: Declassified and the fourth TPB for America's Elite.


I'm obviously bummed Renegades isn't coming back... but even more than that, I'm bummed they're not doing a Joe show at all.

The Way I see it, is they met all the future team members, rounded them up for the last episode, and now they're a team to fight one uber pissed Cobra Commander...

ya but guess stars dont work well lol. i mean look at the 2 live movies there was a 5to 7 team in them with alot of back ground no name joes why cant they have at least 10 or something you know even sunbow had maybe 2-3 main guys in every ep with 4-5 new ones as they need to get away from the same 5 over and over agin kids get board with the same 5 over and over like we do you know lol.
