Anyone looked into the space robot guy line as a potential base for those 90's era joe robot things?

I need that big hammer wielding Ork for a project... Time to maybe check out TRU or dollarama or something.

I saw their castle sets on the Buy one/get one 50% off stand. Not a bad little set, but I already have two of the older AOME Helm's Deep sets for that type of facade and the Helm's Deep one has statuary that rocks.

Edit: Okay, after seeing the Elf set, I definitely want the Archer elf for that head will complete my Glorfindel custom. To the T.

Interesting to see ball socket joints (kinda like those M.A.Rs heroes sets). More figures for harvesting.

Yeah, but that's a number of years old. Don't think this is what the new True Heroes Ninjas are.

Relatedly, does anyone have any experience with some of the Animal Planet sets out there? I know some of them are fairly old and the vehicles have seen a lot of use, but some are new to me and look interesting. I have most of the older vehicles and really like them, especially in my Joe-verse. Just wondering of the quality is still there with the newer stuff.
Particularly, I'm interested in:
The Mega Dino Research Station for the base, vehicle, and head sculpts:

The Wildlife Rescue Helicopter
Just for the helicopter (it doesn't look as well made as the Chap Mei one, but looks a bit more realistic):
Image

The Sperm Whale set for the whale and the sub. I think that sub would be awesome for the Adventure Team.

And finally, the Sea Animal Rescue set for the female figure, the scuba jet thing, and the boat.

From the looks of the that stuff i have seen at TRU, i'd say the plastic is sturdy, the heads should work on a donor joe body, the vehicles work well with Joes, if they fit the bulky chap mei figs, then they will fit Joes.

Thanks. I knew they would hold Joes, just wasn't sure about the quality since it's all TRU in-house brands and Animal Planet anymore. The old half-track from the early Soldier Force line is still one of my favorite set pieces, along with the missile hauler and monster truck. And I've got more copies of that Ray Liotta looking diver than I know what to do with.

The new transport copter looks to be made of cheaper plastic than a lot of the stuff. You can tell it's not Chap Mei designed/manufactured. The Dino Center is all Chap Mei from what I can tell, and it tempts me every time I see it.

That Mega Station is pretty cool.
Would also work well in a gate for an industrial plant or for a zombie attack dio.

Wow, I found something I WANT. Only took two years! LOL.

That Dino station is freaking AMAZING. Want it want it want it. I would convert it to something else, but I would sure keep the dinos! Man that's awesome. Do they ever go on sale? I will be near several TRUs in the next week...

They was on sale during the holiday season, buy 1 get 1 50% off and they was being sold for $30.00 during the holidays.

All of the True Heroes are on sale right now. Buy 1 Get 1 50% off, but the dino station is under Animal Planet and they aint on sale.

The castle sets were in a pretty big box, with the art showing a large castle facade with the classic door. About three armor/mailed figures and a very small dragon. Not a bad set really, given the line. I just have this area covered with the older AOME Helms Deep. Works for both the 1:24 and 1:18.

You know, I am actually loving it when these other companies start putting out product to coincide with any wave ridden by what is going on (Hobbits and such).
The two-headed wolven mount looks sweet, and would work better for me as a Cerberus for my Medusa than the actual Safari Cerberus that was out there. Reminds me more of the Harryhausen one.

That's my plan for it if I get it.
