And he's got a whole whopping TWO more points of articulation compared to Green Lantern figures!
I smell a smash hit toyline!

Man, if they had just given him a ball neck and feet that pivoted down, you could pose him in flight mode.

I certainly wouldn't have Superman just standing around all the time...

HOLY CRAP! ELBOWS!!!1!

Meh - the head sculpt is nice. Looking forward to seeing it painted up. Maybe the villains will provide some decent fodder (doubt it.)

Oh my stars n garters... Fail, Mattel, fail.

Why do they even bother making a 3 3/4" line at all? The 6" line is their bread & butter so they should just stick with that.

...maybe once it hits the dollar stores, like the GL figures did.

Yeah. If the line is at the very least cheaper than Joe/SW like the DKR line was I could see myself buying some to use their heads for fodder, like I did with Bane...

But if it's priced like the GL one, it's a big pass until it goes on clearance.

If your toy says 'Made by Mattel'
You know you have an epic fail

I disagree. I still find Infinite Heroes and Universe Classics to be thoroughly enjoyable. And supposedly the WWE toys are nice as well.

The DC movie toys, though, especially at the 1:18 scale? Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaail.

How about the 'Made by Mattel majority'?

If Mattel really did some soul-searching and realized that their toy lines might just get supported more if they didn't make such underwhelming action figures for them.

*sigh* I must be sniffing all the turkey fumes...

Well, it's made by Mattel, so my response should be obvious to most.

You know, in a few months when the post-Christmas offerings start showing up, we're all going to see how ahead of their time Mattel has been in the 1:18 space.

From what I understand, five points of articulation is pretty much going to be the standard in the near future.

Let's hope a few things escape this. Star Wars has already been a partial victim of this. I would hope that perhaps G.I. Joe (non-drivers, anyway) and Marvel Universe might get around this.

I've got no real problem with more limited articulation if that's how the line started out. But that's not the case with Joe and Marvel. And Star Wars got well past it.

7 PoAs. Seems like they removed the knee articulations in favors of elbows. Yeah, kids can only tolerate one or the other, otherwise the toy is too mobile...

Only Batman had knees in the DKR line. And in this case, the shoulders appear to be ball-jointed.

Which means thus far... Man Of Steel is looking to be Mattel's most poseable movie line offering in this scale.
That was a depressing thing to say.

Kids don't care as much about articulation as collectors do. I don't see a collector based line (SW Vintage Collection is a good example of this) being effected but anything not collector oriented will see these cut backs. It's either that or prices go up more and more.
