Good news/bad news. Good news is that they appear to be taking their time to do the 3-D conversion right. They could rush it like what happened with Clash of the Titans and still make the release date. But Clash (from what I hear) looked like "LASER BLAST" post conversion so its a good sign that they aren't rushing it.

Bad news is they are losing all of the momentum they've built so far. I just saw one of the big cardboard standees at the mall movie theatre over the weekend. Guess those are going to be worth some money now that the release date is changing.

Given what a juggernaut Avengers has been so far, and with Spider-man and Dark Knight both coming out soon after Joe's original release date I can understand them moving the movie. Why risk your big budget franchise reboot against 2 possibly 3 box office monsters.

Not to mention Target already has their 30th on clearance!
I'm sure Hasbro already has the others being pumped out by the factories.
I wouldn't mind some store actually getting the later 30th waves. Those only showed up at Toys R Us & Walgreens here.

3D conversion is the official reason given, but I don't believe for a second that this is the real reason. There must be some *serious* problems with the film for this kind of delay. EDIT not supposed to mention that which I previously mentioned.

*sigh*

Will it take the Club three more weeks to remove the Friday night movie option from the registration software?

Wow. I even checked the date to make sure it wasn't April 1, the website server to make sure it wasn't an elaborate prank....just wow.

If they think 3D can add to the box office, they're wrong. However, if they've made a movie as crappy as Battleship (money wise) then yeah, 3D ain't gonna help.

Sheesh, I can't remember the last time this happened.
