But of course, it's not the fault of the Teflon Club.

Hello,

It seems when it rains it pours. We just found out this morning that our printer has failed to mail you the March issue. This will be going out by Friday so they are incredibly late. If you don't get yours by the end of the month, please let us know. We apoligize for the delay.

Brian

Can they possibly screw up any more this year?

They can... and probably will. The convention is still coming up...

This is annoying but not angering like the other issues.

Now if Footloose is delayed or that shipment is somehow effed up, I will be PISSED.

there's bound to be SOMETHING that goes wrong there, but I won't be there to experience it.

That book over all, if they'd just put it on the website and not make us pay for a publication...

But yeah, that sub service is still on the horizon. That really has potential to cause issues. If they keep on sticking to their old system and won't change to offer other payment methods, we may see another "hack".

I would guess that whoever got the members' cc numbers, etc., also got the staff & company numbers ... which means the staff & company had to cancel cards, get new ones, etc.,

how much you want to bet the monthly printer's costs are paid by the club's credit card(s) ?

what i really want to know (and was eluded by the club on facebook) is if the hacking included getting members' home addresses, email addresses, etc.,

I would say so. If the credit card info was readily available, I would think all other info there would have been as well. But home addresses and phone numbers are easy to get online anyway these days. Even if you have an unlisted number.

What I'd like to know is, what good is that security code on a credit card if people can get your card number and use it without it? We have to type the security code in every time ourselves but yet a hacker can just use the number by it's self?

how hard can it be to write a hack that runs all combos between 0-999 while using a stolen credit card?

what i want to know is: how big of an f'n bite does paypal have on a retailer, that the retailer would jeopardize their existence by not allowing it?

depends on the company you use.

online requires a zip code, or address match, or a 3# code, or any combination. swiping at a store rarely requires anything but a swipe.

That percentage is all I can figure. I have just learned to accept it. I used to run and try to figure a way to get that extra percentage back, but the convenience of having the service makes up for it. Plus with them already running credit cards, they have a percentage taken out anyway.

From other fans I've talked to it isn't the "bite" that the Club doens't like by itself. Paypal isn't really set up for pre-orders which is essentially what the membership and convention packages are. That is the best estimated guess I've heard so far as to why they don't consider it an acceptable option. I want to clarify, that didn't come from the club at all. It is totally fan speculation.

NONE.

the fees are slightly higher than a CC processor, but you work it into your business plan. its REALLY not a big deal, and BEYOND DUMB that ANY online business would not use it. id argue that an online business not using paypal is like a B&M not having a phone.

its all about catering to the customers needs, period. if anything it should be a 5 minute investigation to sign up, see how it works and getting it going. this years and years crap of 'looking into it' is dumb.

and im a club supporter, BTW.

I mailed them my renewal as soon as they said they were taking down online renewal and everyone had to register by mail instead (my membership didn't expire until after the whole CC fiasco).

They still haven't updated my membership to show that I've renewed yet.

And their "hard and fast" deadline of March 16 is fast approaching...

Gotta call BS on this. Plenty of online retailers that accept Paypal do pre-orders for products. BBTS is one that comes immediately to mind.

No, I double checked because I immediately thought of BBTS too. You can't use Paypal on anything BBTS has listed as a preorder, only if they have it listed as In Stock.
