does anyone know what kind of glue to use on the soft plastic used in the Vehicles, usually in the weapons or gun attachments. (not the harder polystyrene used in the bodies/rotors) Im finding that superglue has NO EFFECT on it and all ho glue does is solidify AROUND it. I need a glue that will hold the two pieces together.

any help?

You may want to try a different brand of super glue.....that's pretty much all I use, and I've never had problems with it. If you get desperate, you can always use hot-glue....that'll bond anything.

well,.. if you noticed, the plastic that makes up the weapons of most vehicles is the same plastic that the super glue BOTTLE! so the average superglue bought in stores (including krazy glue) doesnt work.

does anyone have any other glue ideas, or epoxy. or experience in what works?

Well, that's because ho glue only works if you need to glue a couple of hoes together.

On a serious note, I've used Testor's model glue with no problem. I abrade both surfaces first so that there's a little more bite, then just glue away. I know Testor's has a couple of different types of glue. I just use the white/orange tube.

Krazy Glue is my go to glue for everything. I get the kind with the brush in the bottle and I've never had it fail.

ah, yeah, it does. I've glued together vehicle parts (old and new, large and small), figure weapons, and figure parts with it.

Super glue hardens due to moisture in the air (it contains a chemical called cyanoacrylate which does so). There is no moisture in the super-glue tube, which is why it doesn't stick to the tube...it has nothing to do with what type of plastic the tube (or anything you're trying to bond with it) is made of. If you want super glue to set quicker, breath on it...the moisture in you breath will help.

I use pro weld and sometimes gorilla glue. both work really well. I use to use model glue and then i moved to super glue neither of them worked well for me.

I"ve had great results from the Cyano-Acrylate glue made for Plastruct products. It makes a great hold on between hard, soft or any combination of plastics.

I"ve been doing some Scratch building on a couple Vehicle customs...I use the Hot Glue to "Spot Weld" the parts and then brush the Plastruct plastic cement across the seam and it sticks quite well.

I use a combo of Krazy and Gorilla glue most of the time. If it is a part with a lot of stress or movement I will reinforce it with a needle or nail by heating it and pushing it into the melting plastic. If it is a truly busted part I will do all of that and then use a soldiering iron to melt the plastic together or attach a small piece of random plastic to hold the two part together.

Unfortunately, sometimes none of these fixes are as good as a replacement part.

Zap-a-gap is the best glue I've found for customizing in general, so it might work for this.
