Wow, these are bad, it's the type of art I expect on Chap Mei toys, not GI Joe, especially not Joes that are supposed to be premium figs. Not something that appeals to be at all.

The GIJCC deleted my comments about the FSS card art being bad... Big surprise. Guess their fragile little egos were hurt. "Everyone loves the artwork!" Yeah, cause you surround yourself with Yes Men & delete anything to the contrary.

How did you phrase it? If it was, "I feel like the art work could be better. This seems more like Funskool quality artwork" I'd be on your side. However, if you went on there and were all "WHARRGARRBALL BAD ART STUPID CLUB" I'd probably delete that.

Nah, just that I didn't care for it & would only be getting one subscription instead of 1 MOC & one for opening.
Of course they may not have liked when I responded to their "Opinions vary..." with "Not on the boards I've been checking..." :shifty:

 Yeah, I'm not one to bash anything the club does out of hand, but this sub service seems like something I can't get behind.

They need to just bag the figures. The art's terrible & having them on cards just raises the price. And yet they'll keep carding stuff despite the majority's desire otherwise.

I would totally agree on the club going to bags over these cards they are showing.

Plus who really benefits from carded items, SCALPERS! as they can get there funny money for the stuff.

It was a cool thought on them trying to card these, but all in all it just doesn't look good and I'm already turned off on their (applied but not announced) price point. I would be all in for these in bags at a lower more reasonable price ($10-15) for what the figures are.

The Club does, because MOC increases the odds of this:

The Club said early on the price would not be above $25 and even though a lot of people are itching to see if that is the same as saying the price is $25, they haven't changed their tune yet. I think that is exactly what these figures should cost and I commend the Club for seeing that and sticking to it. Obviously to hit that price point some sacrifices had to be made. Unfortunately, the quality of the art was sacrificed to such an extent it has been made basically worthless. There is no MOC display value to this set because of the art. If it was anything but the final art, either the Club wouldn't have shown it or they would be saying as much often and everywhere.

The Club needs to filter the sound to noise ration on the subscription line. I think those who had negative feelings about the figures came off louder than those who liked the figures. Dice is a good example because I remember the overall reaction being negative but the poll pluv ran showed him as one of the most anticipated figures in the line here. So in general I think the figures are not as ill received as perception may have seen. The reaction to the art is much more sincerely and universally negative from what I've seen. If there is any way to up the quality or cut their loses and go another direction, that may save them some subscriptions.

The final price will be $24.99, that way they can say it wasn't $25 and still squeeze every nickel out of these they can.

I'm passing on these, when they end up charging more than the DCUC subsciption for figures that would be peg warmers at retail, it makes the decision easy.

They're still posting "Not higher than $25 but not lower than $20". Someone asked again on Facebook. I would say look at it like a convention set since prices for those are over $300 now... that's about where we'd be for these with a "free" 13th figure.

Well, how long have we been asking for a decent GIJOE scale horse?

After seeing these newest pics, all I can say it Big Boa looks like Funskool artwork and apparently they just stole the tan Grunt artwork from the other line...

This. You can say the cost is justified all you want, but I'm not willing to shell out that much cash per figure when I want less than half of them.

A lot of people complaining about the art have said they aren't going to buy the figures anyway so why should the Club listen to them? I'm just saying.

Why? Because we still have an opinion on it, and it shouldn't be dismissed. I applaud what the club is doing, but I can't justify the cost for the figures I'd be getting. Does that make my opinion less valid?
