oh, btw, my new favorite sealant:

Minwax Polycrylic Clear Satin
(kinda pricey at $8 a can)

i'm leaning away from the glossy stuff these days, and really digging the ARAH look that this satin leaves...

This might be worth looking into.

Last night I used Testor's Dullcote (spray) to seal a figure, and I wasn't happy--still came out too shiny and hours later remained tacky. And this was after I shook the can for a good 2 minutes. :-(

I use Krylon Matte and Clear gloss, for just about everything. Things that can take a direct spray get it, while things like joints and such get a brush application when I spray a bit into a Dixie cup.

Finally got to try out the Americana Matte sealer I bought.

All in all, it's not bad. A bit less shiny that the Plaid spray-on, so you get a flatter look. Chip-wise, I had mixed results; with one custom it sealed very well all over, with another the rub points (particularly the bottom of the torso) didn't hold up so well. I'd say though, for use on non-rub points, it's not bad for the price (around $4.99 for a decent sized can.)
