Don't want to burst your bubble, but, from another site's Q&A: "Movie figures are slated to hit shelves in early summer of 2012." To me this says the chance of later spring waves showing up is about 10%. Except maybe in 3 states, and only in Walgreens, and only 1 of each, never to be seen again after that first day on sale (like waves 4,5,6 of PoC). I mean, most places didn't even get the Spring waves of PoC this year, and there wasn't even a movie to compete with. I'm not saying we'll never get these, but it will probably be in some BBTS 7 packs around next Christmas or something.

We've recently had a huge thread of how badly Hasbro is screwing up the sales and marketing of Joe, and I posted all my thoughts there, so I won't go into it again, but I am kind of sad/mad. For goodness' sake, TrU has an entire aisle of military toys. Toy soldiers have been a staple of playthings for over 100 years now (and probably 5000+ if you count handmade items). If you can't properly market, sell and distribute the most iconic toy soldier in history, especially in America, you are in the wrong field.

Though I'm disappointed with how the availability of the last few waves have been, I have been pretty impressed with what I've actually gotten. As much as I hate to admit it, I look at figures moreso for fodder than their actual plastic incarnations. I've been toying around with saying good-bye to Joe for a while, but I've decided to hang in there for a little while longer. I do like the previously mentioned fan-poll. There are still a ton of untapped characters that need and could easily make their way to today's Joe line. Night-Viper, anyone? Pythona. Golobulus. As much as there is dislike for the various characters Joe has brought us, there is equal amount of admiration.

Because of "Renegades" Duke, I started collecting GiJoe again.

I would live to see more POC or Renegades figures and even more vehicles. I don't think JOE will ever be as popular as it was in the '80's. But, I think it has the potential to evolve and become more popular.

I have said so much on this topic over the years, sometimes cheered often jeered, sometimes I have been wrong and sometimes I am dead on target. Thing is almost anyone who has spoke on GI Joe has had the same track record, so in other words we are all on even ground when it comes to seeing the problems, good points and inbetweens of this line.

Marketing: Seriously no one outside of people who visit websites like this or are down teh action figure lane for some reason even know Joe is out. HUGE missed market out there due to lack of knowledge. Blame Hunter PR or blame Hasbro proper, but the message isn't getting out there any way you slice it. With out the info about the products NOTHING matters.

Boredom, I realized half way through the 25th line, I AM SICK OF THE SAME CHARACTERS GETTING REDONE OVER AND OVER!!! So my solution, if I don't like a design I simply pass it up. Unless it's a great update, (ie POC Firefly) I just say forget it, let another collector grab one who loves the same characters over and over again and wait until something not burned out on (Low Light, ect) or something new (Shadow Tracker) or just pass them up.

Line ending, Yeah I would have no problem with that, there are figures I would love to see updates to, but in the end it has been an ok run. Not perfect but good and GI Joe needs to change or stagnate, but I still have MU, Star Wars ect to enjoy. I am sure the action figure market will end at some point, but not sure when, I do have a feeling GI Joe will be one of the first and biggest causualties though.

What zedhatch said.

As someone who was disappointed with the lack of new characters and horrible distribution, I can't say that I care too much if the line falters. I've all but collecting, aside from the occasional "that's too cool to not buy" figure and the few new characters. I will say, I've enjoyed Resolute and Renegades because at least the overdone characters got updated looks.

As far as customizing, I have enough 25A+ (that's what I'm calling 25A, ROC, POC, 30A) to coast for a while and I'm sure there will always be clearance items on stuff if I really need new fodder. And a enough ARAH figures to last until the sun expands and eats the earth.

I can't wait for the 25th/POC/ROC/RES/30th lines to DIE...

so that ARAH will finally be revived.

Yeah, start holding your breath.

Honestly. If I get an Action Attack Rock figure that throws a figure across a table, I would be happy.
