I've been busy lately, but I'm back again with the non-favorite polls.

If you had to choose, what's your least favorite G.I.Joe figure from 1997?
Stars 'n Stripes not included.

Let us know which one is your least favorite and please explain why!

Blizzard because of the name change. All of these figures have their pluses and minuses in 97. But the name change just failed to sell these to the core fans they were meant for.

Duke is the easy choice here. The part choices were very odd and didn't really fit together well, and the paint apps/choices were really bad (the painted short sleeves were especially horrible).

Blizzard wasn't a name change, so much as it was a last minute "oops!" in that they couldn't use the mold, so they had to go with a different figure.

He's my second choice. The "I can't stand worth a damn" Gung Ho is my first choice. At no point could i get him to hold his legs together.

Duke.

Horrible colors (lime green shirt? Red boots?), "LASER BLAST" face, strange Duke upper arms with Gung-Ho lower arms that weren't even of the same width (yet stuck around until the comic packs era!!!!) and to top it all off, brown hair.

In my opinion the entire 1997 line suffered from quality problems. I'm reluctant to put anybody on the list down too much because it's such a difficult call (besides, I wrote a lot of the file cards that year and I hate to pick on my own stuff).

HOWEVER, if it were on the list, the Stars & Stripes set, especially the frankensteined ones that used the Hawk head and the Roadblock body, would top the list. And don't get me started on that 52-star badly painted American flag... :-/

PS - If I had to pick someone on the list, it would probably be Lady Jaye. Not a bad figure per se, but the sprayed-on grey camouflage would rub right off on your fingers. Never had THAT happen before (or since, thankfully)

That was my favorite O-ring Lady Jaye. Never had a problem with her paint either. She could fit right in with the Night Force with out any mods.

Huh -- odd. Maybe it was because I got the figure as early on as I did and someone did something about it. I have seen other Lady Jayes where it looked like the grey camo had worn or wiped off rather readily, so I'm sure it wasn't just me. Sounds like somebody caught it along the way and corrected it, though, which is good to know. She is otherwise an excellent figure, so I guess I'll go back to picking on the Stars & Stripes Set. :)

Either Duke or Gung Ho. Both had very strange colour combo's: nice (camouflaged) parts, but also parts that didn't match at all. Went with Gung Ho, but could've been Duke as well.

It's a draw: Blizzard, Duke and Gung Ho!
