That HISS is total "meh" to me, but the VAMP is exactly what I would have pictured as a kid if you told me we had Joe toys 25 years in the future. Almost dead on - inspired by real vehicles but more sci-fi and awesome.

That HISS is definitely getting a silver re-paint and being added to my Terminator army. :-)

Those are insanely cool. I didn't even know the Vamp was happening, and now I want that more than the HISS.

I am VERY happy I decided not to buy another HISS I or Night Humvee now. That HISS looks great! And working treads puts a smile on my face.

And that GI Joe Jeep is perfection! It's got a working winch! 25th/ROC figures should fit a lot better into that than they do in the Night Humvee (I tried my best to make them fit but eventually gave up). And it's got the classic gas port, which brings a smile to my face AGAIN. Ahhhh, I can't wait for these to come out!

Do you suppose the final VAMP will have doors?

There is also an article about the HISS in the new Joe Club newsletter.

I'm guessing not for this release but you know they'll repaint it at some point. A VAMP mk II and Stinger have to be on the to do list.

Both are cool. The HISS is a little too sci fi for me. Then again it took decades for me to warm up to the original HISS design. I guess this one will come down to price point and whether it is easy to find or not.

The VAMP is just all kinds of fun jam packed into a cool design. I'll get one for sure.

The HISS was meh for me. I really wanted a Resolute HISS.
The VAMP is pretty cool. It'll be cool if you can attach Night Ops and RHINO weapons to it.

The VAMP looks like a CORPS! vehicle. Not that that's a bad thing really, just that it's not what is normally expected from G.I.Joe to me. The HISS looks like a scorpion. It's not exactly what I pictured from the prototype originally shown. It'll be a decent addition to the army, but not a HISS upgrade. They need to make a toy of the one from the game and put out.

You mean this one?

Not a chance. There is no way Hasbro will do a HISS tank at a price point higher than Bravo class, and that thing is way too big for Bravo class.

The HISS has a slight resemblance to the Resolute/Video Game HISS (BTW, I watched Resolute last night, when the two HISSes pull out of the hanger, they both have the designation of 788. Bad animators!)

And the VAMP looks like its vehicle of inspiration.

I'm about done with my collecting (altho I've said that about eight times in the past six months), but Imight pick these guys up just for their coolness factor.

god I LOVE that HISS more every time I see it. Also, aren't all HISS tanks 788?

Love the VAMP. It looks like a cross between the classic VAMP and the Hammer, which is one of my favorite Joe jeeps. The HISS doesn't impress me too much, will have to wait and see in person if its worth picking up. That HISS in the game looks totally cool though! That I would get in a heartbeat.

Okay, very impressed with BOTH of these. The VAMP, indeed, does look like it's part VAMP and part Hammer, which is fine with me, and that HISS is -- okay, the DTC HISS from a few years ago is tough to top, but this is still an extremely cool design. I suspect both of these vehicles will find their way into my collection.

And no, not all HISS Tanks are "788", nor have they been for some time -- especially not since the Arctic HISS came with a set of labels that let you come up with whatever number you wanted! (And I need more Arctic HISS Tanks just to use up the rest of the numbers).

At the risk of digressing, I also found THIS bit of news on the generalsjoes message board to be particularly pleasing to me:

In a move that is certain to make many Joe fans smile, Newsrama has broken the news about the 2010 Free Comic Book Day comics, and among the bevy of listings, is IDW’s G.I. Joe offering…and it looks to be a great one!

G.I. JOE: A REAL AMERICAN HERO #155½

This is what you really want! Larry Hama continues his original and ground-breaking G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero saga with the VERY NEXT ISSUE (but, you know, 15 years later).

Good stuff! Thanks to Jeff Bohn as always for having his ear to the ground.
