Black or white coat?

I found Rex "The Doctor" Lewis at Aldi. 3 of them with white coats. Go online and see there's also a black coat version. So, which of these 2 is the rare variant?

Black coat seems to be what shows up in Wal-Marts and such. The white coat version is what seems to ship from Hasbro and is in the stores like you mentioned. Neither seems any rarer than the other, just different ways to get it. The black coat is suppose to be the regular version.

That would be IF the local Walmart restocks. I'm still unable to find the normal 4" Cobra Commander in my area. Hopefully I can trade for one.

Normally I don't buy variants, but I actually liked CC in the movie so I might get the black coat if I see it. Hey, how are we supposed to know he never wore a white coat in his career? Not as if those claw gloves were in the film.

I like them for Cobra Scientists. 2 white coat guys and 1 black coat looks pretty cool. Black coat guy keeps the breathing thing and hair. The other 2, 1 gets hair and the other is bald.

I've seen two black coats and three white coats. All white coats spotted at TRU. Black coats at Walmart. I don't really think either figure is exclusive to any store or more rare than the other though.

IMO, black coat is just cooler. I passed on all the white coats.

Black coat is more film-accurate but the white coat is more typical of a scientist. I am annoyed the monocle wasn't sculpted on, but perhaps they considered it a possible fragile bit that might break.

I'm surprised they didn't use the Cobra Commander body with a new head, seeing as all he did in the movie was pull off the breather and put on the clear dome.

Long run I'm thinking the white one will be scarcer, though I dunno by how much. The black coat version is shipping with Collection 1 Wave 3, and wave 5, the white is only shipping with wave 4 so far. I know I've seen a lot more black than I have white.

The toy bin at Aldi had the others pictured on the cardback- Paris Baroness, Para-Viper and the rest. I might pick up Baroness. I need to get back into collecting the modern 4" Cobras, buying back the old ones I sold and the few movie ones I want. Hmm, I know a local Biggs with a few Tomax/Xamot 2-packs which will help me and most of the rest seem common on this board in the Marketplace.

That is what I've seen too. White coat from HTS and K-Mart. Black Coat from Wal-Mart and Walgreen's.

I got the black coat from Hasbro online early on. I think the white coat ships with the night adder wave and black coat shipped with earlier waves. They are therefore more or less equally rare since the white coat shipped in all that wave's cases (and not alternating cases like some variants).

Walgreens charges $12 apiece. I don't even bother to look at Walgreens anymore, they overprice every toy they carry.
