I've noticed I've been adding a lot of helicopter/gunship pilots and gunners to my collection. Problem is, I don't have any for them to actually pilot! I know there's the NAC from 2002/3, but that's kind of expensive these days. What would be my best bet for a properly-scaled Gunship? I've considered the one from Avatar, but I don't think that fits the 25th style too well...

True Heroes has the ever-popular Chap Mei Chinook, a Blackhawk (the name of the manufacturer escapes me...), and some smaller helicopters included in Chap Mei multi-packs. Power Team Elite has a Dauphin rocketship, provided you can find the version with rocket pods, and their own version of the Blackhawk. Then with Joes there's the Rise of Cobra Dragonhawk that's out.

The PTE Little BIrd. Great gunship. Has rocketpods, mini guns (gatling), and holds two figs and can hold a couple in the back. The Blackhawks have no guns but you can always mod it to have them. The new Dragonhawk sucks since it only carries one fig.

Yeah check your local TRU for the True Heroes (I think?) Blackhawk and Little Bird sets. Definitely worth it. And I think Big Lots was carrying the PTE versions of these two as well.

Hey, I like the Dragonhawk.

And no one ever [LASER BLAST] about the Locust being a one-man copter.
Or the Missile Storm copter.

Or any version of the FANG.

You see where I'm going with this, yes?

He did say Pilots AND gunners. Can't have Pilots and Gunners in a ONE MAN chopper. ;)

He also said he considered the Avatar chopper, which is a ONE MAN chopper, so obviously he's open to having copters that require only a pilot.

Plus, aside from Airborne, WHO in GIJoe specializes in being a helicopter gunner?

Yeah, I'm mostly in the market for something with two figures. I considered the Avatar gunship because of its futuristic look (it'd blend in pretty well with the RoC stuff), but pilot and gunner is preferred.

Also, do any of the aforementioned choppers have hooks that extend down? Kinda like the NAC/Crimson Command Chopper?

The Chap Mei Chinook has a hook on a string (with a self-retracting motor) over its door. The others, I don't believe so.
