Ok, since I had to drive 30 miles (one-way) on my day off to get a stupid flu shot anyway, I figured I'd do some Hunting on the way home. Was trying to find the new Joe Playsets (WM Excl) and the new PTE Base at Big Lots, but found neither.

I did find these, though:

Image

Didn't even know there was a 12" Hawk out (there's also a Destro, HD, and I think a NeoViper). Was surprised to find Warpath, Jean, & Vizh at a couple of different stores (no variants, though.) - Namor & Guardian are popping up at most of my local Targets now, so I'll have plenty of $9 fodder for now :-/ -- You can see where I already modded Wolvie with a custom head - looks way better than the Hasbro job. Gonna replace Jean's pea-head with a Joe's and will be chopping up a Warpath this afternoon to make a Superman to go with my other DC/MU customs. Vision may get a major overhaul, since he uses that crappy DD mold. But the head & cape are good, so they may get transplanted onto the Guardian fig and given a new paintjob. 6

The real shocker was the TRU 5-pack, because my TRU never gets anything new or worth a crap - so that was a nice treat.

Anyway - the stuff's getting out there. Patience is the key, I guess.

Cheers!

I saw the 12 inch Neo viper at the PX.
I passed on it, but it did look pretty cool.
Nice haul!

They had the 12" Hawk at the Paramount press event I went to last month. He looks incredibly awesome and I need him in a bad way.

I hit my TRU today hoping to find the 5-packs but no dice. So I ordered them online. $25 for 5 figures (with tax and shipping) is still a great deal so I don't feel too ripped off.

Is Jean's neck as nonexistent as it looks in the photos? That's the only thing keeping me away from that figure.

What's really hit me over the last few days is I've bought all the Wal-Mart exclusives, the TRU Republic Gunship, Bench Press, AT-ST, a couple of the Marvel figures, some Twilight figures my wife wanted, the A-10 from Dollar General, along with all the regular every day stuff to buy. Great haul, but a kick in the butt and "LASER BLAST" of the wallet. Oh and I got the 12" Destro too. I figured he'd be cool to have ince he does have a Pimp Daddy feel to him with that pinstripe suit.

Hey, nice work on modifying that Wolverine. I saw him at Wal-Mart a few days ago, and I thought -- sheesh, did he stick his adamantium claws in an electrical outlet or something to get his hair to do that!? 8-O

lol - thanks, Trek -- it's a B&B Jericho head that I modded quite a while back to fit the first version of MU Wolvie (X-Force colors) - since this uses the same torso/arms as that version, it fit perfectly.

And yes, Joe - my wallet feels violated. I exceeded my budget slightly, but on the positive side - when I finally have money for another "hunt", those Joe playsets should be in stock :D

Isn't that the Vision's classic look? Seems to work for me...

Gotta get that 5-pack too. Is that a new head on Dial-Tone?

Yeah, the Vision is painted in classic colors - his only problem is that he's a dwarf compared to the other MU figs (i.e., a head shorter than Wolverine.)

And Dial-Tone is just a Helix head on a ROC Cover Girl body.

Chief:

Try the BigLots at Academy & Union in the Springs.

I found the new PTE building there a couple of weeks ago. I'll be glad to check back there - I pass it several times a week.

By the way, it was the two-story building. Is that the one you're looking for?

Thanks TL -- slim19722 clued me into the Academy BL, but I didn't make it down there this week. Probably head down there this weekend, though. There's one up in Aurora not too far from work that I'm going to check this week - they usually have decent PTE selections, but I'll admit that all the big playsets I've found have been down at the N Co Spgs Big Lots.

And yeah, the burned-out two-story facade thing was what I was looking for :D

Hey Chief, saw this in a sightings forum elsewhere,

Found the Wal-Mart Battlestations at the the Wal-Mart off of 136. They had a ton as of 2:00PM, They are not in the main aisle. THey are in one of those island caps where the rest of the single figures are.

They hit Springs and I picked up the Surveillence Port & Outpost Defender ste's.

Sweet - that means they'll be up here by Saturday (seems to be the distro pattern.)

Thanks for the heads up!

Very nice haul Chief.

I went to Wal-Mart at lunch and found Jean Grey, Sunfire, Wolverine, and Warpath.
I left Warpath, as I am holding out for the blue and red version, but grabbed the rest.

I also found the new Slave Leia figure.
They had the new WM Exclusive AT-ST, but I have convinced myself that I really don't need it. I already have 4 of the POTF2 version, and the new one would look wrong next to my AT-AT's. It is REALLY cool looking though.

They also had the WM Exclusive Dewbacks, which surprised me. I didn't think that they were suppose to be out until early next year.

Then I came around a corner, and they had an entire back endcap full of the WM Exclusive Masterpiece Skywarp figures.

Due to a tighter budget at this time of year (and saving for a PS3), I only left with the Marvel and Leia figures. I still consider the four figures a pretty good haul (compared to most trips lately) but damn, there is just too much cool stuff coming out all at once. :-(
