CC4:D9 - chad_ghost Spotlight #4Alternate Timeframes
Serpentor,
Zartan,
Doc

By far one of my favorite sets of customs I have done, the Alternate Timeframes Group Project was a blast for me. Of course, winning second place at the GI Joe Convention in Atlanta did raise the bar for these figures.
I originally came up with the idea for this GP, and I had Serpentor in mind. I really thought that he would make a great Pharaoh. Using some great Stargate parts, this figure really came together. My only gripe is that I sanded down all of the scales on Serpentor, and then the cape covered those parts. Oh well...
Zartan came to me because he is essential to the Serpentor storyline. The design came from the Serpent guards from Stargate SG-1. This figure also used some Stargate parts, and the serpent head is actually a valve stem cover. The cartouche says Zartan, or at least a translation of that from a website I found while making this custom. I also love the fact that the bow and arrow was a weapon from the Egyptian time frame.
Doc is definitely a weird character here. Since priests could have been considered both religious figures and doctors, Doc could fall into both of these based on his PMS & SMS. I also feel that if anyone had the opportunity to see the falseness of a god, it would be the priests. I am most pleased by the torso which I was able to mod using only a dremel. Thank goodness, also, for more Stargate parts.

Probably the part, to me, that ties these figures up is the filecards. I found several Egyptian drawings online. I printed them out, made some modifications, graphited the backs and traced my new image. I then scanned those pictures and colored them digitally. I love the way these turned out.
