The new 1:18 Spidey figures are on display:

http://i.marvelousnews.com/g/index.php?mode=album&album=Hasbro%2F3.75_Spider-Man&dispsize=600&start=0

Can't say I'm terribly excited by any of this first wave (yet another 3-3/4-inch Green Goblin and Venom?!? Why not go deeper into the rogues bench and give us something we haven't seen in this scale within the past 2 years?). And the number of gimmicky variations on Spidey, himself, gives me a bad feeling about the long-term viability of the line (a couple of different Spideys per wave, mixed with some more obscure villains and supporting heroes, would be a smarter play).

Hmm...none of these really appear to be new molds unless I'm mistaken. The regular Spidey mold, black costume, House of M and the Green Goblin looks close, but I only have the Hobgoblin figure to go off of here. I would love it if they made a Shocker. Six armed Spidey would be a cool variation that I think people would actually buy, but instead they always go Batman toys style on Spider-Man and give him like a glider or a wetsuit.

Some cool accessories with those figures. Seems like this could get us some good villains in a few waves, and room for more characters in the MU line.

That super poseable spidey looks like a different mold than the one that came from MU. That Venom looks like it has no knees, and as someone who didnt get the Marvel/toybiz one I am cool with them doing another.

Dive Attack Spider-man FTW!!!

No, seriously. Dive Attack Spider-man looks awesome! I must have Dive Attack Spider-man on my G.I. Joe SEAL team.

What's the deal with Hasbro's puzzling lack of consistency of articulation styles between their Marvel-based lines? The Wolverine figures had ball-jointed elbows, those awful ball-jointed hips with swivel thighs, and double-hinged knees. The Marvel Universe line has double-hinged elbows with a shoulder swivel, Joe-style t-bar ball-jointed hips, and double-hinged knees, with occasional forays into ball-jointed knees, elbows, single-jointed ankles, and swivel waists. The Iron Man 3 3/4" line appears to have the Wolverine articulation. Then, these Spider-Man figures come along with the strangest combination yet: the ball-jointed hips, ball-jointed elbows, and ball-jointed knees.

I realize that they probably have different development teams working on the lines, but it just seems strange to articulate the figures differently when each line is so closely related.

Yeah it is different teams. Most likely an entirely different factory will make them too.
All of these are new sculpts.
The only one that looks remotely interesting to me is regular Spidey. He as all the normal articulation points. However I already got MU Spidey. Not even Goblin has ankle artic. He should need that to stand on his glider!
At least I have my Showdown Venom still.
Night Mission Spidey seems redundant. Doesn't he usually patrol at night anyway?!
Doc Ock from SDCC looked crappy too. Probably the only one I may get from this line is Rhino.

Venoms legs suck all around.

Night mission Spideys helmet thing looks like his Prodigy head piece.

Also I've always been drawn to the 6 inch Aqua spidey, I might actually buy the the 3 3/4 one.

XMen Origin hip articulations? No thanks
Many figures don't event have articulated elbows. What's up Hasbro are you tired of selling toys?

Some of these figures don't even have knee articulation. What gives, Hasbro?

is it wrong that I like some of those Batman-esque Spiderman figures? The "night ops" Spiderman is actually pretty cool. His head and mask will be great for making a new Swamp Rat.

...eww.. Green Goblin looked awesome at SDCC. Now, he's a maybe buy at best.

I like the Mark Bagley style Venom but the lack knee articulation is super lame. I'll get him though.

Best Venom sculpt ever, beating out the 90's tongue-flicking version. I seriously hate Venom with the super long tongue, and I hate it more when it's on every single figure. Sadly, they gave him redundant arm articulation (upper bicep swivel and the elbrows for a nice "spinning meat" effect on the biceps) but no leg articulation. I smell a re-release with proper leg articulation in our future, knowing Hasbro.

Scuba Spidey would be kind of fun if not for the lack of articulation.
