The ROC figures are amazing. I'm especially fond of the "off-camera" figures that the lines given us so far. Grunt, Helix (yes, I'm aware some people think the cloaked character was her and others think it was Jinx), the upcoming Dialtone and Repeater, etc.

But there's so much of it, even if it's all wonderful. It's like having a dinner made entirely of dessert. With figures pushing $10 a pop, it's a very expensive dinner, too.

As I get older, I find that collecting new stuff is fun (did I mention how cool the new Grunt is?), but customizing is a bit more enjoyable. Even without buying variants and repaints, the unopened figures are turning into a pile.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

I know what you mean.

I can't even get any money aside for army-building yet, and I love the new Cobra army builders (yes, even the Neo-Viper and the Viper Commando!).

I don't feel overwhelmed myself because I am not a movie figure collector. I have a select few of them, but I am not striving to get all of them. Not even close actually. I have actually been noticing how the talk of GIJoe has slowed down quite a bit since the movie release. I can go a day or so without looking at any boards and see that not much new was talked about. Quite the opposite of overwhelmed actually.

I was going full bore on the anniversary stuff. I'd even call myself a completist when it came down to it. Now I've slowed to a trickle. I am only grabbing figures that catch my attention, or didn't see a release in the 25th/Resolute line (monkeywrench, and Resolute Gung Ho).
It's not anything againsnt the movie figures, as most are pretty cool. This wave that is starting to show up, I'm only after Night Adder, Kamakura and Charbroil. I'm skipping alot, and for the first time I'm not thinking in the back of my head I'm missing out on something that I will regret.

I'm somewhat overwhelmed as well. You know those original waves that everyone, including myself, is complaining about? In some ways, I'm actually grateful they shipped in such numbers, because there are still several figures from these waves that I want that I've never had the money to grab, and I have many of the RoC figures. There are just tons of them.

It is too much all at once. Plus with even more coming, it's very difficult to keep up. I'm a G.I.Joe fan, but this is getting a little crazy. I'd rather see 6 good figures rather than 25 with those 6 still be good ones and the rest are hit or miss. It's been like that for a while now though.

I don't think I've bought a single movie item. The Doctor Rex seemed kinda cool (not that I've seen one in person), and a few of the Joes look nifty (Shockwave, Helix, Flash), but I'm just not into it.

To be honest, I wonder how well the ROC stuff is selling, given how much of it is out everywhere I look.

I like Some RoC stuff but its more for customs then figures. But here we still have wave 1 in most walmarts and TrU is to far away to check but maybe monthly. So while I might pick up one here or there, we are flooded with so much of the same old crap that it doesn't matter.

I am feeling a little overwhelmed by all of the new stuff, but it really has little to nothing to do with GI Joe.

The new Terminator Harvester, the new Mezco 3.75" Cinema of Fear figures, the new Marvel Universe figures, the new Secret Wars comic packs, new Bandai Creation Godzilla figures, new kick ass Star Wars vehicles like the Republic Tank and Tank Droid, and the occasional Joe figure for customs.

It is getting to be a bit much for me.
(Ahhh, if only all of life's problems were this "tough". )

I completely aree with this statement.

Not even just the ROC stuff (I have yet to buy any of the vehicles for the stress of hunting down all the figures), but keeping up with getting all the Star Trek Bridge parts, Hunting downt the Marvel figures, and STILL trying to find a CHow Yun Fat Dragonball figure... this collecting is driving me nuts!

I'm in the same boat of overwhelmed but because there is just so much from so many lines.

I decided that I would not squad build with the Cobra troops in the movie line, but that still leaves me with so many Joe and Cobra characters I have not picked up yet. Plus I still need to get around to some of the vehicles that look appealing.

Marvel Universe is starting to pick up so it's not only waves that I have to track down but now I have to track down comic book packs as well for those figures I can't get any other way.

Thank goodness the Transformers movie line doesn't appeal to me at all so at least that's some money and some space saved there. Kind of glad I resisted the urge to collect Star Wars because there is just so much good stuff coming out in that line.

Ouch plus all the stuff from other companies that might go good with my Joes or my Marvel figures, it just seems like a bit of an overload of cool stuff lately.

Yeah, I'm overwhelmed as well. I still haven't picked up the Cobra Island packs, but they're definitley on my list. My most recent purchases were the WM 2-pks. I was a completist when JvC, VvV, DTC and the first couple of waves of 25th started. My budget is a lot tighter. I'm more of a clearnace shopper/ TJ Maxx and Ross shopper nowadays. Pinching pennies sucks...majorly, but now I really have to want something to buy it.

I'm on the underwhelmed side right now. Surprisingly, all these price increases are helping me. Before, if something barely caught my eye, I bought it without hesitation. Now, if I have to spend $8 on a figure, it's going to be a figure I really, really want. Same goes for vehicles. So, even with all the new stuff out there, I'm more selective, and think I'm actually enjoying my collection more now - something that was overlooked when I'm trying to find every new thing coming out. Now, I do expect frustration to come back soon, with me trying to hunt down the Gungan warriors that are out, and that Walmart MMS set.

yeah i havent liked the film line at all. i do not think any of them look anywhere near as cool as the old figures.
i have never liked the look of modern military. i use to love the 21c and bbi ww2 figures. but i just dont think modern looks cool. and the film figures look like modern military. theres not that much fantasy military look that i liked about gijoe since 82. and even snake eyes and storm shadow dont look cool to me.
how can you mess them up?

i actually bought my first film figure today, it was the 2 pack with monkey wrench because he looks like hes suppose to.

Overwhelmed? Oh yeah.

It's like the end of Valor Vs Venom all over again. A new wave of figures (Or vehicles, or battlepacks) every couple weeks when you still haven't found the last wave, constant worrying that you'll miss something and it'll end up being super rare and you'll have to pay quadruple for it later on.

I LOVE the ROC line, but I HATE that they're throwing everything at us at once.
