I say test your hypothesis. Leave the one you know changed in water for a couple of weeks and see what happens. Try to duplicate the process.

Im gonna do that.Ive got it sitting in a clear glass now, ill see how long it takes to actually change.

Do they stink? I left some legos in a bucket out in the rain when I was a kid, they stunk horribly.

I've had similar fading happen but it was due to the clear plastic and not the water. The fading was even and perfect based on the chemicals given off by the plastic.

don't use PLANO plastic containers to store joes...they are not archival plastic :-)

That's actually pretty strange. I've seen water fade out the paint on a figure before, similar to too much sunlight but I've never seen it come back to normal after drying out.

Really makes you wonder what kind of chemicals they were using in the plastics back then (or the water now).
