Was still publishing G.I. Joe? Of course, there would need to be permission from Hasbro, but...

Imagine a phalanx of Cobra troopers marching down Main Street USA in Disneyland...

Or, take it a step further. Marvel also published a Star Wars comic. Picture a mock battle between Stormtroopers and Cobra Soldiers at the entrance to Tomorrowland.

Aaaaand, this is where the mind goes when I have an uneventful afternoon...

Well Star Wars is in Disney already with. I think that's what would have been is G.I.Joe would have either not been a part of the deal or it'd have had to remain it's own entity.

But saying that Disney did get to do something with G.I.Joe, it would have been neat to see a HISS tank rolling down Mainstreet...

It would probably be sanctioned to MGM Studios, err, Hollywood Studios, I should remember that, I was there the day they changed the name. Anyway, it would be sanctioned to Hollywood Studioes and Californialand like Star Wars is, but that isn't a bad thing. It keeps it from becoming campy. Can you say Disney exclusive figures! Can you imagine the Disney ride? And what about the action sequences - battle scenes - like they do in front of the Star Wars ride, where little kids and ZombieGuide battle it out with cast members! (Mommy the big bald kid scares me)

Disney does sell Gi Joe toys in its Downtown Disney store at Disney World. I think it was kind of a backscratch deal between Disney and Hasbro, mainly because of all the Disney Star Wars stuff Hasbro makes. Not to mention the Disney versions of Hasbro games etc.
Now if Disney buys Hasbro, that would be interesting. Hasbro has alot of profitable properties, besides Gi Joe and Transformers.

Hasbro is the sponsor of the toy store and they have a great working relation with Disney.

Yeah but the downtown Disney store only carries the same stuff available at most retail yet at an additional 30-50% mark up. However, with Star Wars you have the exclusive android figure set which consists of all the androids from the ride, and you have the Star Wars ride vehicle toy, and you have the Disney Characters in Star Wars costumes action figures, and the Disney Exclusive Star Wars Mr. Potato Head. (I know cause every time I go I buy these exclusives for Zombie Guide so he can sell it on JoeArmory - I'm his Downtown Disney Mule)

I love those Potato heads and my daughter loves the Disney My Little Pony princess'. I have been tempted to do the "Build a Saber" but just have not done it. I have several of the Disney character cars(they used to be Hasbro's but are now done by Disney) and a bunch of the Star Tours ride figures and cannot wait to see what they do for Star Tours II!! (About time this goes through)

But usally when Disney builds something the get a sponser for a ride or building, Hasbro sponsered the building and gets to stock their product there. Also you are on Disney property so you have to figure in that mark up. It is still better then the old toy store Mattle used to have! That thing was a joke and had an even worse mark-up.
