Not quite, Ft America was meant to be an undercover HQ that could convert back and forth.

See, we Joe fans get a flat out "no" for an answer regarding the Terror Drome but the Star Wars fans get that idea taken into consideration and even expanded upon... :-/

Well, considering the talent we have on the board. how about we stop complaining and just make our own playsets?

I'm still looking into making the Dreadnok Roadhouse.

Make it a year long GP, if need be.

The fact is, any of us could make a playset that is better than the PIT.

It's sort funny but after seeing the movie and the Hasbro con display I got thinking that fans could just take an old free standing book case and convert that into the PIT. I mean it seems like the PIT is mostly just levels full of cool stuff so you would just have to cram cool stuff into the different levels of the book case. A coat of something like battleship gray and boom you've got an underground base.

While that seems unfair, there are only a couple thousand hard core Joe collectors compared to eleventy-billion hard core Star Wars collectors.

We're an elite corps.

I spent a LOT of time at the Hasbro play area, and while a lot things saw a lot of play, the Pit is not one of those. Kids were playing with everything on the other table, and mostly just with either the pyramid or vehicles they brought over, on the Pit table. I saw very little playing with the Pit, at least on Friday and Saturday.

Really? Because every time we were there there were kids playing with the Pit. And my kids (And Joeczar's son) were having a blast with it. My 6 year old especially likes how it opens up and then folds down: "Like a Transformer. Wouldn't it be cool if it could turn into a robot?" is a direct quote.

In fact by Sunday the poor thing had literally been ripped apart by a thousand little hands opening all the doors and playing with it.

I still find the Pit to be decent. It's not the best design out there, but it's not bad. While I think it would have been better to have had themed playsets that all could have connected together to make the Pit, I do see this as fun for kids.

If you break it down to the play areas, it has point from the movie. The cardboard piece on the one side is suppose to be the area Ripcord was being tested on targeting. The area on the other side is suppose to be the point where Cobra drills into the Pit. The prison can double for either Baroness or Cobra Commander/Destro. There's a computer area. There's a weapons area. There's sleeping areas to representing the areas for G.I.Joe's "down time". The ping pong table is suppose to help represent the rec room and I guess you'd be free to make that area where ever you want. Then there a variety of area all around the thing for other key elements from the movie.

You just have to break it down, and that's where a lot of the problem is. It's like a rolling junk pile due to not being a perfect theme all in it's self like the MCC. It's not worth $100, but I'd say that $64 sale makes it well worth it.
