Thanks for the heads up on this.

I'd been thinking I'd probably never buy one of these, although it looked very cool to me. Just couldn't justify the expense. But between this sale, the gift card I had from the recent TRU sale and some Paypal dollars I forgot I had, I ended up getting the Pit for $25 shipped.

That is all well and good, but where will it be stored? Will your wife give you "the look" when it comes in? I know my wife would with me :-P

Well we all know how things turned out for the great man's deal, so I'm sure your deal will work out just fine... :shifty:

Hm. Guess that means it won't be seen at all here.
I was wondering why I just wasn't seeing it anywhere... :-/

And yeah, I'm with you on language laws. That's also why we haven't gotten comic packs, SRO packs, DVD packs, Headquarters For Heroes, etc.
I don't want to dwelve into the politics of this law too much, but needless to say I am sick to death of it.

I love large vehicles. Flagg, Terror Drome, Defiant... BMF, AT-TE, Imerial Shuttle, Turbo Tank... I have them all. But I still have no desire to get this thing. It is just so many points of wrong in my eyes I can't possibly justify getting even for $25.

What are the language laws? Everything has to be written in both languages?

Every needs to have French on the packaging. This usually stops most exclusives from making it here, since the stores rarely bother commissionning a new bilingual package for these toys, Toys'r'us especially.

If the toy includes a DVD or a comic, it has to have French. This pretty much stops the release of comic packs and DVD packs.

If the toy has a sound chip, in many cases it needs to be unilingual (which is why we got the "European" version of ROTF Optimus Prime and Megatron which omit the "I am" part of their sound chips), although it seems to vary (Animated Bulkhead and Megatron did make it here with their English-only sound chips).

I'm not certain what features prohibit the PIT from being sold in Quebec, but dammit, I am getting sick of it by now.

Well, a more expensive silver lining for those in Quebec: Sears Wish Book p 831. The Pit is available for 129.99$Can.

Why can Sears ship the pit to Quebec but not TRU? Oh well... :-/

Much like the U.S., the western side of Canada is the better side. (As far as I can remember the dual language thing doesn't exist in the west), just take a road trip to Saskatoon or Calgary or Edmondton. Tell the wife you want to take a trip to see your beautiful country. Convienietly make a TRU stop and pray you have enough gas money left over to make it home.
