I think the lines biggest failure so far is not giving us a Destro in a suit and The Doctor in the 1st wave. Considering this is how we see them MOST of the movie, it makes sense to me.

I hadn't thought of this until I just read that, but I have to agree 100% with that assessment. I actually haven't seen The Doctor yet and is now one of the few figures I haven't seen at retail. That really sort of is dropping the ball. They didn't even really need to be in the official first wave since many hit at the same time, but there was more than one Heavy Duty in those initial waves, so that is a bit odd.

I realize that the Night Raven was only in one scene, but that one scene made me want the stupid hunk of plastic. I wish I had somewhere to put it. There's no way I'm putting the original one away.

I got a night raven solely based on the movie. Just sayin'.

Again, I wouldn't got out and say it's a fail-a-thon, I mean maybe we aren't seeing a lot of the doctor figures due to the fact a lot of the first couple waves are still there. I mean people are just now finding more Helix figures. Give it some time. Also I really see nothing wrong with the vehicles being the way they are, other than they aren't 100% movie accurate, they are still fun to play with and are fairly good.

My local Wal-Mart hasn't done any GI Joe restocking since they first put the figures out even though the display is starting to get really thin. Looking like we might have the same trouble with waves getting out everywhere like we have had in the past.

At least it's a little bit of a break though since my wallet is going to hurt so bad from all that is likely be released.

same here. None of the walmarts have restocked since the July release. In fact,2 stores have not put anything out at all. They never put out the initial releases back in July. So they will be stuck with tons of early wave stuff when people have moved on to later waves.

Thats why I shop at Target and not "LASER BLAST" ass Walmart.

I started playing the Rise of Cobra game for the 360 last night and I was surprised at the number of the toy items are actually from thay game and not the movie.

Mobile PITT
Walmart exclusive MMS
Amrored Panther
Toy accurate mole pod
Snow Cat
MARS Troopers
Vipers
and lots of joes.

There are also a ton of easter eggs built into the levels and lots of charecter cameos.

I was at my local wal mart today, and they are JUST NOW putting out movie toys. Seriously, the schematic pages were still taped to the pegs and the only things out were single cards and armadillo/ferret sized vehicles. All the other pegs were tagged but not stocked.

As for the toys being fail, the only one I've really found so was the gunship. It's okay, but they missed a couple of spots on the design that would have made what did come out an acceptible substitute. The most glaring to me was the absolute failure to even indicate where the thrust engines are. I knew the minute it popped on the screen the first time what it was, and the first thought I had was, "Oh, so that's how it flies, how am I gonna do that on mine?" All the other vehicles have given me little "Oh Hey! that's cool!" moments that make me love them. The steel crusher (why didn't they go with Scarab? anybody know?) having rubber tires, and the excellent execution of the Night Raven's sound features are good examples. As much as I don't like sound attack features on toys most of the time, the NR is so well done that I know I'd have LOVED this thing when I was ten.

Oh, and by the way, the things that they were calling Rhinos in Kyrgyztan are actually real world vehicles called Buffalos or Mraaps or MPCVs. They could just buy some of them to blow up in the movie as opposed to having to mock up the Rhino.

They were also the basis for Bonecrusher's Alt mode in TF1. There's no way that Hasbro was going to make that tooling for one of these when they had the Rhino Around to repaint.

Lets hope that Hasbro decides to do like with the first Transformers movie where they released a lot things that were in the video game but not in the movie. I mean we've got what at least two years before they could get a sequel out so they will need something on the shelves.

well after seeing the hasbro designed items for the next few waves, I will gladly go on record as saying Hasbro does not fail.

Ok, this is going to sound so bad, but here goes. Just wait. I've been there. You come back from the Con all excited about all the cool stuff you've seen and you're preaching to everyone how awesome the new figures are going to be. Then something happens during the production and the toys that you saw or think are cool don't live up to the hype or are flat out changed for cost reasons.

As much as I respect the Hasbro design team, I've also been told things that don't play out the way they want them to. I'm not saying they lie. I'm just saying wait to see what gets released. You know with all of the stuff they are making there is going to be some crap that gets thrown our way too. You can't have the good without the bad and they aren't going to exactly advertise the bad. Everything so far looks very promising but don't stick your neck out for the line making proclamations that may not turn out to be true.
