The toys from the upcoming James Cameron flick "Avatar" are FANTASTIC!

I just love the futuristic military hardware and the alien designs are completely original and totally otherworldly!

Aside from some wonky looking hip joints, this lime looks full of win!

Sadly, the figures have funky necks as well. But it looks like the hips have lateral movement similar to the Dragonball Z Evolutions figures, while not exactly aesthetically pleasing will allow for more posability.

Seeing how its a Cameron film, no doubt they will stand behind this pretty well.

Those vehicles are pretty damn impressive.

I also love the "works with most 3 3/4" figures" on the packaging. Very inviting to use with Joes. :lol:

I get a huge Alien feel from those vehicles, I love when Cameron does his own concept designs for movie. I mean he did create the Dropship after all.

Wow. That is some pretty cool stuff. The gunship and that mech are must buys. Good thing the Rise of Cobra joe stuff doesn't interest me. My moneys going to be spent on all these other lines.

Loving the aesthetics. Hating the mechanics. You'd think the father of the Terminator endoskeleton would understand the inherent limitations of a t-crotch design and go for the more sound ball socket.

Does this Avatar have anything to do with the Avatar: The Last Airbender anime? The last time i checked it did but these, although cool looking, look as though they have nothing to do with it.

No, Cameron's Avatar has nothing to do with Avatar: The Last Airbender which is being directed by M. Night Shyamalan. Cameron's Avatar is the reason The Last Airbender is being called "The Last Airbender" not "Avatar: The Last Airbender". Hollywood drama. :roll:

Con: No lil Asian kid in pics.

Pro: Cripple guy in pics. Can recreate Devil's Due General Hawk, Timmy, Professor Ten, or any of a number of famous wheelchair bound characters.

Edit: Even better, finally what looks like a Harvey Dent figure in the background shots of some of the Mattel pictures.
