Thought you guys might appreciate some in-hand pix and first impressions of the forthcoming SDCC exclusive Destro figure.

While I'll probably never use the figure as the character, here he is all geared up and shiny:

Not a bad look, overall. Almost reminiscent of an old movie serial villain or Batman's Black Mask. The height is a little on the short side for Destro (at least the classic take on the character) and the shoulders are awfully narrow, but he looks pretty good in the suit.

I think he looks even better out of the mask, though:

Now this guy has the look of a sleazy weapons dealer (or international investment banker). I look forward to using that noggin on another body to get a real weaselly looking Cobra character for my dioverse. Meanwhile, he can model the suit.

Here he is next to a custom suited Tomax I made from last year's exclusive Cobra Commander, just to show what he might look like waiting for a train:

And here's something I know a lot of folks are thinking about already:

I didn't make any effort to make the Dark Knight Joker head fit on the body, but it would with a bit of cutting and shaping. I'd probably recommend the Infinite Heroes head if you plan to go this route, though.

Overall, I'm pretty impressed and I see tons of custom potential in this figure (assuming you're like me and don't mind spending a bit on fodder). Otherwise, with the factory repaint potential it represents, I think we can pretty much count on Hasbro re-using at least the body at some point. It's got the full range of 25th-style motion and the suit coat/vest is removable soft plastic, leaving a decent shirt-andptie torso underneath (some custom arms and you could have a shirtsleeves Destro in no time).

If you have the opportunity, I recommend picking at least one of these up.

I probably won't use it as Destro either, but it is nice to have a suit to use for customs.

Awesome. Has anyone (i.e., Justin) heard whether or not we'll see a repaint in the Movie line?

Indeed it is way too much to spend on the exclusive just for custom fodder. I still don't have any of the suited CC exclusives because of this fact.

The Infinite head is way too long and thin IMO. Instead this one would make a better classic Joker...

I would also think we might get something like this at retail. On the flip side, we never saw the Cobra Commander from last year.

That is a great looking figure though. I also dig the chrome wepapons. Very Nice.

Not yet, but that was really an Indy fig with a CC head. And with a new film in the works, Toht is destined to be released eventually.

Didn't one of the Q&As say they designed it with the twins in mind?
