I came across the file card for a character who is a Navy SEAL. I can't remember the guy's name though. All I recall about his file card is that he hates the water, and that makes him better at his job because he takes that anger from having to get wet and puts it to good use fighting Cobra.

Any help would be great.

It's DEPTH CHARGE. I knew it didn't sound like any of the underwater specialists from the original line (Torpedo, Wet-Suit, Deep Six, or even Shipwreck), so I checked the only underwater specialist that I knew to be developed in the newsculpt line. Headed over to the file card directory on YoJoe.Com.

Depth Charge's file card reads, in part: "He totally hates the water. He doesn't like swimming, despises pools and hot tubs, gets irritated by the sound of seagulls, is nauseated by the small of ocean air, and takes the long way around puddles."

"You want to know why I'm so enthusiastic about running up on the beach and clearing Cobras off it? Because if Cobra wasn't there, I wouldn't have to jump in the water in the first place!"

Depth Charge is a UDT, an underwater demolitions team member, who fortunately enjoys being a UDT just enough to overcome his hatred of water.

What a lame filecard. If GI JOE is the best of the best, how would someone who doesn't love their job beat out everyone else in exceling into such an elite position?

That's pretty awful. Clearly they were trying to go the Iceberg route, where he's so mean because he hates the cold, but whoever wrote that is no Larry Hama.

If he hated the water so much, why would he even have joined the Navy at all?

Lame is why.

What would be more awesome is if he couldn't swim.

Then he'd REALLY have a reason to get onto the beach and kick Coba butt!

They could call him Sinker.

I'm rambling.

Uhm...
Iceberg LOVES the cold. He hates warmth.

But yeah. It seems like we've been given the most horrible of filecards ever since the Real American Hero Collection happened.

Jay is correct, you were thinking of Sub-Zero:

Thanks for the help.

Yeah, I though it was kinda cheesy that he hates water. Even regular sailors don't get wet very often, but SEALs and UDT, well, water is kinda their thing.

Unfortunatly my computer won't let me go to YoJoe.com. Dunno what it is, but I get the header bar and the first banner ads, but it won't go any furthur. For figure verification, I've been going to halfbattle.com. Personally I like it better than YoJoe for figures. The only thing I don't like about it is that you have to know the year the first variation of the figure came out, there's no search bar to look up specific figures.

YoJoe.Com can be a realllly slow-loader at times, especially on slower computers. But even then, it's noticably slow. Part of it is all those ads. I generally find that it comes up EVENTUALLY. Give it a chance. Call it up, go fix a sandwich, watch a little TV, and then see if it's there. :-D

(Note, no offense or insult towards YoJoe.Com is intended whatsoever in these remarks. I make copious use of their Archives and Filecard Gallery myself, and am profoundly grateful for it!)
