DK Books, those masters of reference books, have published a HUGE coffee-table type book titled WWE ENCYCLOPEDIA. I saw it for the first time today in Border's.

Decided to page through it, and in Sgt. Slaughter's entry, it mentioned BY NAME his involvement with G.I.Joe, devoting a paragraph or so to it. I thought that was pretty cool.

It's an impressive book in its own right, but a little odd. The listings are alphabetical, but based on FIRST name for those individuals who don't have some unusual character name. For instance, both "Boogeyman" and "Bret Hart" are listed under "B".

Two things I noticed -- although WCW is mentioned throughout the book for any WWE wrestler who had a significant career there, there is no individual entry for the WCW. There is, as one would expect, one for ECW.

And Chris Benoit's entry makes no mention whatsoever of his death, or the circumstances thereof, although other wrestlers who have passed away have been mentioned as such. I suspect they really had to dance around that one, but realistically couldn't leave him out of this comprehensive a book.

I have seen the book and thought about getting it.

But first I need another 40% off coupons and another $5 Rewards Gift Certificate.

Well, I'm halfway there. I have to use my $5 gift certificate by the end of June...

Actually I get both Toyfare and Wizard at Borders, and get the majority of my books there-the Rewards adds up quick.

The only other book purchases I make are my monthly Mack Bolan series book and the bimonthly SuperBolan & Stony Man series (alternate months) at K-Mart. I get them there at 25% off. If K-Mart does away with the discount, then I have no reason to even walk in the store.

I guess I do pick up the occassional MMPB at K-Mart of Wal-Mart too...but mostly I just use the 25% or more coupons from Borders. Never pay full price...
