The DCIH stuff is fine if you're a kid - they are very cartoony and too small but are built great for small hands. And yes, the t-crotch was a stupid move. I actually like the DCU 6" figs better than Marvel lately, but they totally dicked up the 1:18 line. And as custom fodder or as toys compatible with other lines, they suck. I do have a few - but they've all been used for (limited) custom fodder - mainly just heads, jackets, and Hawkman's harness. The rest of the stuff got tossed.

I have a crapload of MLS figs and I still get some usage from them now & again, but they are way too flimsy.

Wolvie figs were a huge disappointment - the hip joints are terrible and with the exception of Deadpool (a character I don't even like), I regret buying every one of my W:O figs. Still haven't found movie Sabretooth, though - I plan on using him for a vampire custom or two if he's decent.

The MU figs are the best of the lot, but they're still not perfect. I was disappointed in Spidey from the first pics, but after gijoey convinced me that he just needed a head transplant (courtesy of MLS Spidey), I changed my mind and now he's one of my faves. All of them have needed a tweak or two, but that's my nature anyway, so it's not a big deal. Hulk totally sucks with that goofy head and his cankles, but I use Movie Hulk anyway, so no biggie.

So even with their problems, the MU line towers above anything else that's come before it.

I've seen stores where the 6" DC stuff is displayed beside the 4" stuff and it's almost impossible for me to wrap my head around the fact that a company that can totally knock it out of the ball park with the 6" figures can strike out so bad when the figures are only 2" shorter.

Personally I prefer the DCU figures. The Marvel ones are all done using the 25th Joe style &I have never been a big fan of it. Now if they had been done inthe ARAH style I probably would be all over them.
Now someone mentioned pricing in my area the Marvel figures run $8.44 and up while the DCU figures only run $6.50 average the nearly $2 difference really help my decision. Then ya factor in the multipacks with 3 figures for around (or less than) the price of 2 of the Marvel figures.

And maybe I am not getting it, but that DC line is just utter crap IMO. Yay, whoopedy doo, they have Superman and Batman. They are boring figures and they look wierd. With their stoneage articulation, all you can have them do is run. And run. And with the females... I don't know why they even bothered with that wierdo hip joint. That's good for nothing. Nothing ladylike anyway. Besides, the sculpting on them is just really... subpar. Booo!

Everything I was thinking you just wrote. I wouldn't give you a nickel for any of them. Welcome to 1982 Mattel, learn to make a hip joint.

The Toybiz figures were neat, but cheaply made and fragile as all heck. I've got a pile of busted parts that make me sad because I really liked those figures. WHY VENOM? WHY DID YOUR LEG HAVE TO BREAK OFF???

The Marvel Universe line is EVERYTHING I could ask for in a 3 3/4" scale superhero line. Great sculpts, super articulation, and they don't fall apart when you look at them. I wish the Wolverine figures had the same hip construction, but that's a minor nitpick. I have multiples of almost every figure I've so far found and can't WAIT to find the rest.

I voted for the DC Infinite Heroes, one of three. I like the Hasbro Marvel figures well enough, but there are a few things about them that bug me. First off, the inconsistent figure construction styles. Black Panther is built differently than the Human Torch, and the Torch is different than Daredevil and so on. The Black Panther in particular is just bad in my opinion. Then there is the hip articulation on most of the figures. If I try to put them in a sitting position the leg at the hip has a springy/resistant to then that I feel will break the figure if I try to move it too much.

The infinite heroes ain't perfect, but I still likes 'em.

You barely can make the DCIH sit, it's more like a squat, with their tiny heads, over sized Corps hands and their "NO ACCESSORIES" makes them, IMHO, a failure, they are gonna have to pull something out of their butts to compete with Marvel, don't get me wrong i like both characters from DCIH and Marvel, but Marvels figures just can't be beat right now.

Althought I did forget to get my Qwardian armed. Anyone have a pic from the comics? I'm just curious on what their weapons look like.

I wasn't aware of SHS, when they were out, but I wasn't really collecting anything but Transformers, at the time. The DC figures phail, on the grounds of articulation. I like to pose my figures, and lack of articulation kills a fig, for me. I'd have a lot more Star Wars figures, if Hasbro would give them proper hips.

The Marvel Unierse line has a lot of potential. Seeing as they're not using standard Joe construction on them, I'd love to see them work in upper leg rotation, without using the cumbersome hip design the Wolverine movie figs use. The Wolverine movie figs, just aren't impressing me, though. Their hips are are visually and functionally awkward. The upper leg rotation they provide is nice, though.

MU wins my vote.

While I've only picked up a couple MU figs, they beat the couple of SHS figures I own hands down. The SHS were too flimsy and loose jointed for me (I only have the SHS Ghost Rider and Punisher figures so maybe the other figures were better), but the new MU figures seem better constructed. True, the Wolvie Origins figures have a lame hip construction, but compared to the DC stuff, all I can say is at least they have hip construction. In this day and age, 3 3/4" figures must have close to, if not more than, the articulation found in 80's Joes. My motto is: no ball joint, no purchase (there are a few exceptions of course).

If the MU figures had a more standard construction and were more 25th Joe-like, then Hasbro would have an A+ hit on their hands rather than the solid B that I would currently give them.
