I was lookin through my custom fodder the other day and i started to wonder...

How many of each fig did hasbro make from 82-94?

was it a standard number for all figs? or were some made in fewer numbers... and i wonder what those numbers were?

these are the weird questions that pop into my head and keep me from the really good jobs

1997-2005, ARAH figures rarely reached above 10,000, but back in the golden days, I've heard numbers as high as 30-50,000 depending on the year (eg. v1.5 Cobra Commander was produced from 83-85, etc) and the popularity of the figure (Snake Eyes, Duke, Destro, etc.)

Would the JC equivalent of a chorus line do?

And not to be yelled at for going OT, it would be nice to know the answer to this question but I'm afraid it's something we'll never know for sure. Even though we're 20+ years from those production dates I seriously doubt Hasbro would release the numbers.

I would say that in the golden years, I think the numbers would be closer to the 75k-100k mark, considering 10K is almost the absolute minimum to make a retail-supported product.

From what I remember hearing a few years ago, Blowtorch was a very popular figure (it was a surprise to me) at the time, supposedly due to his color scheme.

I've often wondered what case assortments were like back in those days. When they only had one wave shipping for the entire year, were some figures more rare early on, and then plentiful later in the year or vice versa? Did they ship entire cases of say Dial Tone and Wet Suit? Stuff like that.

Master Collector announces their production numbers.

I think I read somewhere that the wave 5 ARAH collection from 2001(?) was fairly low. This was the wave that was internet only and almost got scrapped.

Do you have any sort of proof, or evidence, of this?

Don't get me wrong, they have been less than forthcoming many times over many things, which is one of my biggest problems with them. But that is not the same thing as outright lying.

The most obvious example of Master Collector not being honest about their production numbers is the Fuscia Strike Team...I think at the show it was listed as being limited to 250 bagged sets...it's easily 4 times that or more.

Also look at the number of prototype sellers out of the orient...They regularly have large numbers of MC exclusive figures for sale. Often the more popular figures are sold privatley and not on Ebay...

I won't fault the club for making an extra 10% or so to cover production errors...but they should still be honest about it. What I think is more likely is that they need to make minimum runs...so somthing like 1000 figs...and if they only want a limited set of 250 the other 750 figures are "Destroyed".

I'd love to know the number of Crystal Balls produced...just so I could count my army as a percentage of all existing Crystal Balls.

If I remember right (I could be way off because I was really young, but did see them getting stocked at Lionel's quite often) they shipped in cases of 24-36? I can't recall an actual case breakdown, but I would not surprised if they shipped 4 of each of the popular characters and two of the rest.

Ive been into Joes since the 82-83 swivel arms , (Breaker was my first one) and everywhere carryed them , and i checked every time i went somewhere and never saw a 82-83 Snake eyes , and when SE v2 came out i only ever found 1 at a walgreens in kinda a bad/older part of St.Louis , and i only found 1 Baroness at a spencers at our local mall a year later, but everyone else was easy to find, so i always had this idea that Snake eyes and Baroness was short printed , somehow .

Yeah thats what i kinda thought...

or maybe they were regional?

like the midwest only got one snake eyes v 2 but the southern states got 30...

or something along those lines...

i just thought it woul be neat to know that hey there were say 100000 snake eyes v2 made and now there are only so many left from that origional 100000 run...
