But how many times have we said that (and HOPED that) and it turns out to always be the final production piece.

I was hoping Monkeywrench would come with his shades - that the Outback head was a custom. Yeah I got shafted on that.

Normally, that'd be correct, but since we've seen the pics of a more finished looking Mindbender, and there are better existing molds to accomplish the figure's look, I'm a bit more optimistic on this one.

I was really excited about Mindbender getting a better shirtless torso because it's got a lot of custom uses (and I'd end up with multiple Mindbenders anyway army building the rest of the set) but I already hate the Gung-Ho torso, so this is disappointing to me. I'll just have to hope that the Resolute Storm Shadow makes it out so I can buy extras of that for my bare chest needs.

Crap on a stick
I noticed that too :/

Sucks.
Now all i'd really passively want from the packs is 1 Night Creeper crossbow

I wish I could be as optimistic as you guys on this, but the one first shown is obviously hand painted and has the proto style hips we've seen before. The one with the GH torso and CG legs is production level. I'll bet anyone that the one we get has the Gung-Ho torso.

Yeah I'm gona guess that the designers wanted to go with an all new body and the bean counters said no. That first picture doesn't look anywhere near production level.

Not a huge deal for me as I'm not in the "hate the Gung Ho torso with a firey passion" club. I think the frankensteined parts look great.

actually viperlord, I'm with you on the gung-ho torso, it doesn't bother me in the least. I like it on Torch and I like it on comic pack Stormy. What bothers me is the CG legs with holster. It's NOT Dr. Mindbender.

It's the same thing they did with Zartan's legs on Major Bludd - just a cheap way out.

Eh, the CG legs work OK for me. I'd have gone with Viper lower legs myself, but that's just me.

The gun holster could hold his probe.

You better holster yor probe. :shifty:

Still looks fine to me. A new torso would have been cool, but at least they didn't cheap out on the head somehow.

I didn't notice this. You're right, the original proto-mold was WAY better. Lame again, Hasbro!!!

I love Joes, but I'm passing on these 7 packs and holding out hope for single carded Zap and Alpines. I am wasting my time.

I guess I'm in the minority, but either way this sucks. I realize it's a new version(HOMAGE) of the v1 mold, but as far as I'm concerned, every mold after that was better. The 90's mold was ok if you wanted a BAT control guy, and the "lab coat" mold was the best ever IMO.

The Gung-Ho torso needs to be vilified the way the Duke arms were so Hasbro will be shamed into putting it to rest finally.

It's a silly character either way. I don't like the holster. I don't like the Gung Ho chest. I wasn't buying the packs to specifically get that figure anyway. That being said...I wish it was the original way. At least the figure would be cooler that way. The Gung Ho chest works okay on Torch. I don't think it fits as well here.

For me, V1 is the only version of Mindbender. I don't like everything Hasbro's doing with this new one, and I'm certainly not paying for six other figures that I have no interest in just to get him. With drbindy's help, I've got the parts I need to make my own mad Dr.

The original one looks a LOT better. That GH torso one doesn't even look like it fits the head very good. And the CG legs do look a bit funny, and I hate that 'holster' thing...

I mainly want the better torso so that you kids will have lots of bare chests for customs, and can send me a few of the Mindbender web gear. :shifty:
