This was a very tough one for me. I love both the Conquest and Tomahawk. I remember getting them both clear as a bell. I ordered the Tomahawk from Service Merchandise from their catalog in store and waited about 2 to 3 weeks. I got the call that it came in at 8:30pm after getting home from the mall with my brother, my mom took me back down to get it! The sight of that box rolling down the belt from the back room was awsome! Put it together that night and stayed up till at least 1 playing Joes. I remember getting the Conquest a little while later when my mom went grociery shopping at Shop Rite which was next to the mall, mom let me run over there as she went shopping, I found the Conquest sitting on the shelf at Service Merchandise, I grabbed it up and bought it, shocked it was so cheap! Ran back to meet mom and kept pestering her if she was done yet so we could go home! Ahhh the good ole days of Joe collecting!!! Overall, I had to go with the Tomahawk, as it fit more Joes and you could shove a Silver Mirage in there or an Armidillo.

same here... Torn between Tomahawk for function, or Havoc for play value (cant beat that hovercraft in the back..)

Ultimately I went with the Tomahawk... cause,.. until Chap Mei, BBI, and PTE, that was our blackhawk, our dropship, our extraction vehicle....

so much play value in the tomahawk even with the removable seats, winch, real deployment door,.. and unl;ike most cargo copters (even now) has its own armaments.

I went with the Devilfish, good in its own right and still gets tons of use. Not a great vehicle but good for the price.

I would have went with the Tomahawk simply because it was awesome, but this is one vehicle that is probably one of the most fragile in the entire line. Even with the Rattler's landing gear you can just have it gear up and be fine but the rotors and propellers on this thing break while on display. Still I have to give it props for still being the best military transport helicopters out there. All the modern companies haven't topped how awesome that chopper was.

I had to go with Tomahawk as well. It went on EVERY mission when I played with the Joes which was often when I was younger. It would either drop off the team or pick them up or both and also chew up some vehicles on its way in or out.

I had to go with the Tomahawk. No offense to Wild Bill and his Dragonfly, but the Tomahawk has always been and remains to this day the most impressive helicopter in the G.I.Joe arsenal. It's a shame it's never turned up again.

That being said, I do like the Conquest and its assorted variants, and the Devilfish was very cool for a one-man attack boat.

Gotta go with the Tomahawk. It's been supplanted by cooler, 1:18 scale helos, but it has never been topped within the Joe line.

As much as I like the design of the Conquest X-30, the design of the HAVOC, and the gimmicky-ness of the LCV Recon Sled and Triple T, my two favorites from '86 are the Tomahawk and the Devilfish.


I voted for the Tomahawk because it is just the quintessential GIJOE Helicopter. It can be used for insertions, extractions, air support, ground support, medical evac, and cargo/personnel transport.

No matter what scenario you ever envisioned, the Tomahawk could fulfill the mission parameters.

I always liked the Devilfish too. I thought it might work better if the side pods had some wings added to (to make it more of a catamaran). Can't recall if the Marvel issue where the Devilfish debuted had them or not.

The Devilfish just seems like a tough little craft, and I always had Topside and Shipwreck operating them with guns ablazin'...

In all, the Tomahawk and Devilfish were some of the better designs and possibly could be the most realistic ones in the whole line.

Gotta disagree here. Maybe now it is, over 20 years later, but that thing wasn't fragile at all. Heck, even pulling mine out of storage after 10-15 years, all it had was drooping rotors, and still had all the Joes and mud on it from the last time I had played with it in the 80's!

I had all of these except the Triple T, even though Slaughter was my favorite wrestler back then (back when it was still debatable whether wrestling was real!), it was just too sucky of a toy. Worse than the LCV, at least I could find some way to justify it in my juvenile mind. While I really liked the HAVOC for play value, and the Conquest because I've always loved aviation, the Tomahawk was by far my favorite. A big, armed, transport chopper with plenty of room for figures. Of course, I've always been partial especially to helicopters, so maybe I'm a little biased!

Really? I've only ever seen pictures but I always sorta liked the look of it.

I went with the Tomahawk. my brother had one. I remember playing with it when I very young. It disappeared, and I think my mom is to blame. Still, until I was 18 and cleaned up the entire basement by myself, I still had hope it was hiding somewhere down there. It was not.

The Conquest and HAVOC are also really fun vehicles. I love the VvV era paintjob, even if it has sound attack action going on.
